So who here is growing in true organic living soil?

my remaining veggies and seedlings did not appreciate 48 hrs of industrial dehumidification. or me being gone all week. got our water back on and back at home! still a ways to go but it's a start.

we be alright!

javadog that is awesome. I have been reading through sepp holzer's permaculture and the growing edible mushies section really caught my eye.

Ok, after soaking the dry poo in water for a few days i used it last night, about 1.3 gallon of poo water and the rest water. Im wondering if i over did it. Im guessing cows havent been in those fields for years, can cow poo fossilize?

Personally I stay away from livestock manure, unless they have all been organically. If they were raised non organic theres a good chance the feed they were given has antibiotics in it. Bad cow manure can also carry E. Coli. Im not gonna take the chance.

Morgan Composting here in MI uses cow manure. Not sure what remaining chemicals may persist. Microbes deal with most over time.

e Coli is everywhere. It's only bad if there's no beneficial microbes around to keep them in check.

The thing is im sure this stuff is a decade old, maybe more. It just never rains here.
Now im going to have to think about this, thanks for the info.

I dont want to say that cow manure isnt a great amendment for your soil. Just make sure that you know its from a reputable source. Finding a good local source is usually always your best bet. With local you can talk to the farmer about feed, and visually see how the livestock is being treated.

Ive added ground chia seed to my most current mix, contains calcium, magnesium, and potassium. Im also hoping that it will help retain water.

Flippin spider mites, back at it again and im so close, maybe try the saop this time, that organicide smells to high heaven , ideas, help, life line valume , weed, oh yeah

Had some friends use Ed Rosenthals zero tolerance works well and has a great smell. (Rosemary oil, thyme oil, and a few others)

if you are in bloom I wouldn't spray the soap or um..anything

buckb has a few good mite tutorials around here where he pretty much covers what you need to know

abe has suggested iso alcohol for spot shot what you can see

if organicide didn't work last time it won't this time. you gotta break the egg cycle

no one quick fix for this

I need to keep all the real threads together after i find them. This thing navigates like a drunk sailor, i will look for that thread , thanks

I am going to make a pepper spray to use as a preventative and am
using Fertilome (Neem) and Spinosad on my plants, before they flower.

I have been forced to take plants early, but only once so far.
