So which strips?

I already own a self build F-Series panel. I extended my grow area by twice 2'x3'. I'm planing to build 2x ~200W for flowering, and I want to cover a better spectrum. I've been reading and reading and my head is exploding now, and still don't know what stripes to go for.

I started with "H-Influx or Q-Series", and the desire to add 660nm came up. Now I don't know what spectrums I should include, UV too? I see some strips with far red build in, but that should not light all the time?

So I could go with the Samsung, but there are also new Bridgelux, Seoul semi conductor strips and Nichia strips. And add additional spectrum myself. Which I don't like too much.

There are a lot of cutter strips which makes it hard to tell which ones, most only have 1 additional spectrum, so I would have to mix them and figure out how many from each.

I like the new upcoming SSK272, but it's just a bad size (I would want 1.5 of them).
There are quite some others like the Photo Boost Strip or others that just include 660nm, which I think is the most important, but should I really ignore the other spectrums?

There are also some chinese quantum boards that use lm301b and 660nm crees, and they dont look cheap or anything, but are quite cheaper.

I would just like to have the perfect strip, but there isnt (yet)?

Of course I will read on and on and..

Going to depend on your price point you're willing to spend. Many options out there now but I'll still put my money down HLG,PLC or Samsungs.

Price has to be well balanced. Power cost here is quite high too, so a good investment is fine as long it pays out in the long run. But since its not something I spend easy, it makes the decision really hard, and with so many options it is just something my brain can't handle fine anymore. I wanted to order stuff weeks ago :wall::lol:

Red addition is easily done with photo boost strips from PLC but I don't know when they'll be in stock again.

Their website say that they are in stock?
2ft (56cm) is is like the worst lengh as it barely fits into the space (57cm), but I'll work with it if I have to.

im in the same position
but i think ill go with the q Series
yes the ones from alibaba are cheaper but also the quality
i ordered ones from alibaba seller and had bad expiriance like the connector falls or line from the borad that isnt working and so on...
i also going with q Series because you get good price for 1000 piece and i can be sure i get high quality stips

I would highly suggest buying them with haste. They've been sold out for months.

Hahaha, as much I would like to rush it and just buy, I should not do it with haste :) And I just found out they don't deliver international.

I'm still thinking about the SSK272 and tune them down to 100W. What I really dont like is the website of that company, gives a pretty shady impression, as I can't even contact them. Their contact formular is a newsletter subscriction (?!?) and the mailto link down at the page is just empty. The product page of the SSK272 is missing specs, has 3 different dimension specs (with one obviously wrong), has errors in the description (just below the SSK272 title). Does not give a good feeling.

Are there any other strips with 660nm deep red? This is the one I really want to have included. Adding some UV is quite simpler as there are bulbs for that.

Not sure if this info is still accurate as its been a few days, but Gene said in his latest vid a few days ago that they were indeed in stock and able to ship out asap .

As i said tho, that was a few days ago he said that , so could be all gone again by now

That cutter board looks nice, but imho has one problem: they use the xpg (up to 6 watt chip with great efficiency) paired in strings of max 0.6 w chips. The reds are going to be hugely underutilized (but incredibly efficient) to the point where your red boost is around 6% (1/16th) cause they get the same current as the white chips. If you get any old Cutter board and then a couple of 1 foot strips and fit them on the same heatsink you would have something better and youd youd even be able to run it on the same driver. Ymmv

Damn, that really got my favorit option.

The Nichia Optisolis (2700K) looks quite nice, possible to mix 98CRI with 80CRI (or maybe with 90CRI 3000k?). They do cover enough deep red?

Theres very limited benefit in going from 90 to 98 cri. Not sure its worth it as optisolis are expensive. But you could try chatting to @Prawn Connery he has some boards with some special spectrum for flower. Size should work i i thi they are 200x400 mm.

I like a mix of 4000k, 3000k, and added 660nm.

Pretty much any spectrum mixing after that should be done on a per strain basis that will make further customization pricy for no reason.

Like run the fuck out of one strain from clone and get it in optimal everything else, then mess with co2. Then dial the spectrum in.

It takes years of running one strain to really -know- it.

Would you suggest these for a 2x4' space. With 40" of vertical space? Actually I have two of those spaces. I cut a 2x4x7' tent in half with a table.I want to veg in both spots.
Looking for any suggestions to research through.
So far,qb 120s and T5's have been suggested. This will be strictly veg as I have qb96 elites,qb120sand cree cxb3590s for flower already.
Thank you.
My bad OP for the slight thread jack.

I have heard and read nothing but good things about atreum products. Not too sure you want the deep red supplemental for veg tho?

Honestly if i was gonna build another light strictly for veg, id prob just use the bxeb 4` strips or the samsung f series. Bridgelux is also coming out with the new gen 3 soon, so they might be worth a look.

Bxeb 4` in 5000k...4k is 6 weeks lead time and never in stock anymore it seems.

Led gardener calls for 240w drivers for flowering, so you could probably get away with 185w drivers if just for vegging?

Both would be very nice lights for vegging in 2x4s

Take my opinions with a grain of salt, im just passing along info that was shared and taught to me this past couple months while i was researching for my builds.
