Yeah it wasnt stealth, if so they really shorted me a few seeds....I think on page 2 I posted a pic of the seeds so....they looked pretty cannabis like to me...although Ive never grown cannabis, Ive seen quite a few seeds.

I just assumed if they ripped me off hardcore (like somehow colored the seeds or just knowingly sent the tomato seeds) there would be others( im a member at ICmag, grassity and a couple others) posting online with the same issues but like I said before I searched and searched, and too be really blunt I didnt even know what keywords to search for bc its so ridiculous

And thanks again for everyone's help and reliable seed bank info....I researched seeds banks also, couldn't find much about north country and what I did find was positive so...

Hi, I'm Rebecca from North Country Seeds and the Vancouver Seed Bank.
The seeds we sent were definitely Cannabis seeds.
The photograph clearly shows Cannabis seeds not tomato seeds. cannabisseedssent.jpg

I don't know what happened in this guy's garden. The first picture he posted is indeed a tomato plant, but the second is definitely Cannabis.

Rebecca, most around here are very aware of the difference in the appearance of the seeds in question.
IDK the OP (she's new), but she sounds somewhat sincere.
I believe she linked you to this thread so others could see how the issue is handled.

Personally I'm not judging - just watching.

Look I dont want anyone to think I'm slandering VSB, Im not here for attention, a cruel joke or for a couple of free seeds. Ive thought over this for like 3 weeks, and finally decided to ask on a forum Ive been lurking on for years, and recently joined. I know people are crazy sometimes but I have nothing to gain from making up a wild story.
I used a new brick of coco. Nothing was stored in my garage. I dont have mice . I planted five dark colored seeds that looked similar and ended up with 4 tomato plants.
And I am just too tired to defend/explain myself much more. Ive thought about different scenarios and its much easier to put the blame on me the "newbie" than the seed bank. Like I said Im appreciative of it all. Even the tomato plants.

wtf tomato plants that's a new one. did you tell them? do they even sell heirloom tomatoes? i mean shit how do you mistake a tomato seed for a weed seed yep you got me.....

As far as I see it, if the seed the OP planted was like the seeds pictured, there are really only three possibilities.
1) OP is joking/lying to have a laugh or get free product
2) A mutant tomato dropped a seed big enough to be mistaken for a cannabis seed (Which would be like mistaking a grape for a watermelon)
3) OP's soil (or coir/pearlite mix, w/e) somehow got an unnoticed tomato seed in it, which germinated and out-competed the cannabis seed.

Only OP knows if it's number 1. Number 2 is HIGHLY unlikely. Number 3 can be figured out by digging up the soil and seeing if the unsprouted seed is still somewhere in there. If the seeds in picture are only kind the seedbank sent, I would bet my life's savings that it is 1 or 3.

Dood read much? OP is being genuine imho and was seeking honesty here, ....what does the title say again?
1) Already addressed by OP, its not a big thread; try and keep up.
2)This would not be the fault of the OP but the seedbank
3)New brick of coco, honestly reading the thread would be faster than typing "soil (or coir/pearlite mix, w/e)"

So in summation, the OP has already addressed every single point you made here....feel me?

Yes. Because someone online told you all those things are true that definitely rules out us using deductive reasoning. Also I clearly read the post because a) I've been posting in this thread for a while and b) I said coco/pearlite mix because OP said it was a 50/50 mix of the two. Guess I'm not the one who needs to learn how to read. I do suppose that in my previous post I forgot to add that invisible mythical unicorns sometimes shit out cannabis seeds that sprout as random non-cannabis plants, that must be the answer considering that OP is an infallible goddess incapable of human error. You got me!

Um I think I pretty much blamed it on myself from the start.
Any who....after 15 emails and pics of all my tomato plants, the VSB rep has generously offered to make it right, and left it open for me to decide what exactly that is. And their email reply was timely.

I asked for 4 seeds or a refund and charges for tomato seeds. Either option seemed fair. If anyone even cares anymore.. ;)
Goodnight friends.

deductive reasoning would tell you that the time it takes to make and post in this thread isn't worth the cost of a few beans.......and btw(by the way) imho means "in my honest opinion" on these interwebz

All's well that ends well. Sorry for your time and energy loss on this.

Ace - seems like you didn't nail down all possibilities. It is very possible somebody in the seed supply chain pulled a fast one as a joke or disgruntlement issue. Don't know this seed company but based on how they handled it, I would guess it was not intentional.

shit just sometimes happens.

Bravo Ace.
I'm sorry if you didn't understand that I was saying soil and then explaining what I meant by that because it was a shorter word. I didn't realize that that would be an enormous mental leap for some people. My bad. Also I would suggest you look up deductive reasoning in the dictionary, or else re-evaluate what you consider "worth it", because writing a 20 second post to possibly receive a $20+ product would be worth it to a lot of people. I'm not saying OP is trying to screw anyone over, I was trying to offer my opinion that a tomato seed slipping into the growing medium was more plausible than the seed bank somehow making tomato seeds look like cannabis seeds, or the OP mistaking one for the other. I was assuming that most of the people involved are intelligent adults, and was trying to help shed light on the apparent mystery. If you have any more plausible explanations, please share them, it would be a more productive use of your time than critiquing other people's attempts at helping based on your own misunderstandings.

I totally get that shit happens, but if the seed was swapped out by a disgruntled anyone it still would have looked like a tomato seed. OP said she was sure the seed was identical to the one that grew into a real weed plant, so I doubt it was a bait and switch.

Idk how a tomato seed could look like a marijuana seed..............
You seem like a cool cat so I'll fill you in here baby:

That tomato seed you got in your hand, forget it, shut both your eyes.

Now envision a marijuana seed.

Ka-Bam ! See how that worked?

twostrokenut you really make me laugh, you argue like a tabloid newspaper, you cut and paste whatever is convenient for your argument and leave everything out that doesn't fit. It's like you heard someone say I AM NOT A RACIST so you reply "Look at that guy saying 'I AM... A RACIST'". Honestly it reminds me of bullies in highschool, they use the exact same kind of arguments, just trying to turn around everything you say and never actually adding anything intelligent to the discussion.

Well, we're never going to know exactly what happened. But the way I see it, the poster is upset by this attention and I find her story very believable. Her thread title says it all.

I haven't seen tomato seeds that look like mj, but I have seen mj seeds that look like tomato seeds. TGA sold me a little white runt vortex seed that tuned into a beautiful specimen. So I don't judge a seed by its cover...of course I will now!
