This is me giving rockwool cubes one last chance for starting seeds. I have 1.5 inch starter cubes that I will only use boiled ph-ed filtered water.
I also have a 26w CFL grow light. I know it's not the best, but I only have 2 plants, I'll look into getting a 2nd one.
I'm going to use a 3x3x4 inch grow cube with a hole in the top, and once roots start poking out of the bottom of my starter plug, I'm going to put the starter plug into the bigger cube.
Keep it under the cfl for a few weeks until I get 2-3 nodes. Then I transplant them into 6 inch net pots with hydrotron going into a DWC. Only phed water at this point no nutes until they go to the DWC.
Does this sound like a good plan??
I've lost my fair share of seeds. I used to transplant them after 4 days of them popping once the taproot has poked out of the bottom, but I'm 1/3 with this technique. I'm going to try babying them a lot longer. Also, the bigger rockwool cubes should be more stable in the net pot. Are there overwatering concerns with such a big cube of rockwool in DWC?
