Smoke and Mirrors Experiment

I got a wild hair to try mirrors around my Hulk Berry Auto. What the point is is to get the light deeper in to the plant. The light is a Mars Hydro TS1000.

Just compare the two pictures and offer an opinion.

21 days old. You can't hardly see up into the plant.

I had Weeds gather up all her old hand mirrors and just placed them around the plant. It really lights up the inside.

Does anyone think this will help?

your better off useing flat white paint around your grow room, it's like 90% reflective, i tried mirrors, it worked, but not as well as the paint
Can't very well do that because it's not a grow room, it's my bedroom. That's why I'm not using one of my bigger lights. I may get a large cardboard box, like maybe a 3x3x3 and make a small place for my plant. Sherwin-Williams has a vary good reflective white paint, but for the cost of it I might as well put up a real light.

This is just something to do while I'm waiting for the outdoor grow.

I did something like that about 3 years ago except I lined my tents with Mylar. I didn’t think the reflective material of tent was anything special.
So I took heavy Mylar sheet and just hung them ( taped border ) - I actually preferred the slight waves in it and not like a mirrored funhouse.
I have no way to prove any advantages but …. In my opinion- I think I was able to light my plants more evenly and thoroughly .

You know … bounce those stray photons … instead of them either wasted or absorbed by lesser reflective surface.

I like the waviness, too. That would send light to more places. I've noticed that the magnifying mirrors from the makeup mirrors spread the light more than the flat ones.

Sorry for what I did. I was really ripped as per normal and thought I lost the post and rewrote it on a different forum (Grass City). Now there are two identical threads on different sites. Bad me.

Good thread, brought back some memories. I miss Randomblame, and RIP nfhiggs.

Aluminum foil is convenient for smaller jobs and has good reflectivity. Someone here even used mylar salty snack bags.
Doesn't encorage a good diet though.

My first 5 years I had Mylar “take out” covers stuck to my closet walls! Flat card stock backed and incredibly reflective.
Restaurant peoples can be quite creative.
