so got 3 pwr supplies be here today ordered yesterday

with shipping taxes rounds down to less than 68 each +/-
 
been searching my garage for suitable AL pieces
found some 1/2 al blocks 5" x 5" 5 of them
got choices on bars as I have alot of 8020 stuff to make cross bars
that's 80/20 is great as it reuseable & fast set-up take down , just a allen wrench the only tool
 
as soon as I get my cobs I can start seeing what I can come up with ,
no use planning heatsinks till I have the holder in hand
just the way I work my concussion issue I have work around with help from my friends
shout out to nogod fer yer help ThX
I get pix posted of all the treasures I got rat holed
I've used the 80/20 to make running/sliding attach points so I could move my mars around

my room is a old bathroom last run befor I demo out the shower stall the plants in the shower suffered
& I lost alot of Sq/ft due to the 2x4 tiled walls of the stall but every plant outside did great I had all those in tray liner & pots that sat on dollies , that way come trim/inspection i'd just roll the plants into my kitchen do the work roll back
that way i could pack the room with plants all walking area was plant to get to the stall back wall plants i'd roll them out
I had plants as tall as me on the dollies

Thats bad ass! So many people just accept the loss due to walkways. Very innovative!
 
harbor freight dollies are yer friends
cheap & work well both sizes , get some bungee cord to tie the pots & liner trays to the dollies
I could push them out with my feet pushing the dollie & me holding the tops & bamboo stakes at the top
you could actually steer the dollie by holding 2 L/R bamboo stakes & pushing with yer foot . I could roll out walkway plants trim the stationary plants then go to kitchen trim the dolly plats & roll them back
watering even easier as again roll what every in yer way out then water , again water dolly plants roll back in
I could water the whole room in 5 mins
where the shower stall was will be sog as the cement pad still there WITH a Drain That's where the 1st rig goes

with the way the room runs square pots rule as do square tubs i used as pot liners
you match a tub to a dollie , then find the biggest pot that you have that fits as long as rolls thru a door way yer good to go
give yer self some wiggle room keep the whole dolly tub/pot 4 " skinnier than a door way
as near the end u will be Not able to see your feet when pushng due to yer big sticky greasy buds in yer face LOL

lokking in the garage again found some more 80/20 .
what's a better sink flat al stock to ad those mars heat sinks to ??? 3/8" or 1/4" or smaller .133 is a size i see alot as reuse or cut-off sections cheap $
 
anyone understand/know heat transfer theory ??
what's a better sink to attach those Mars2 finned heat sinks to ? I'm doing a bar build using AL flat bar stock about as wide as the Mars2 sinks
starting with the flat AL stock to add to those mars heat sinks to ??? acts as a cob mount plate as well

I'm thinking .133 is lite in weight but is thicker better for dispersion of heat ??
thick 1/4" is stiff but heavy

hey i posted this a while back but here it is agian

you can calculate heatsinks cooling by putting in its dimensions in cm there is also a ppfd calculator on the right fyi


i would attatch cobs directly to the mars sinks and use aluminium angles to build a frame around it if i were you-adding a pc fan will exponentially increase the cooling of your sinks

i couldnt see exactly but the big sinks look like they will do around 40w of heat passive or 108 active

so with the cxb3590 72v version @ 700mA thats like 1.8 cobs passive or 5 active

that tape mearsure has slightly loose rivets so that under 100 mm is really like 99 mm

also note that those darl area is dust that was heated & attacted more dust soooo those are actual hot spots in the light assy
the dirtier mars 400 had a huge area dead center on all three of the 400's I have
the 400's are the oldest all my mars were just one run that went from xmas to end of april

you can tell I had a fungus nate issue in that last posts pix
this here is the measurements I promised to get on here the profiles here on this 900 mars is 68cm long
the 400 has the same profiles in them , i cleaned the 400 2 weeks ago they were WAY dirty big time grunge in the fans the room will have filtered air this go around IMG_20160108_104123.jpg
