That was serious stuff but I had to laugh with the silent but deadly part. Yea it was some serious fun on my trip. I have some testing to do myself now to see what others did. Was also interesting to see how others trimmed and cured there stash. Fellow RIUers are so generous and nice to sit and talk over all the aspects of their grow. A lot of fun.

I Thank you and all the RIU peeps that have helped me in so many ways. I've been getting great reviews on my effort so hats off to you all. Looking forward to slabhead's 2010 with renewed enthusiasm. :leaf:

That's why your new avatar looks so familiar. I've read 3 and half of his books. I'd really like to finish that 4th, The Art of Dreaming. I wanted to start with his very first and got to the 3rd. Very very good reads!!!

Had me a couple slices of cannacinnamon toast for breakfast. 10g per slice. I'm just 'bout into The Art of Dreaming. lol ;-) My arms are getting heavy and I'm having to focus on the keyboard to type. Man, I'm loving these edibles, even more than smoking. I'll prolly be medicated until lunch on those two slices of toast. yum

I'd always just ground up the pot and cooked with the grit and all, but this is almost otherworldly. No wonder my poor pooch was passed out for hours. lol

Better go I feel like adjusting the couch...

How much weed is used per amount of butter?

Hey GT, I used an o and a half for 3.5 sticks butter. But from what I've read one good o per pound (4 sticks) of butter is the norm. On another thread fdd told me he soaked 7 o's in a fifth of vodka first and then used two pounds of butter for the boil. I bet that was some powerful butter since the alcohol solvent wash absorbes the thc and then cooks off in the buttery water boil. I'll have to try that tek. Maybe with a litre of Everclear in a couple o's. Such great knowledge on riu.

Thx for the info slab. I think since people down here really dont like outdoor for some reason unknown to me, I may be making alot of butter. I also heard or wondered about the everclear ----> butter recipe. I will ask him what he does. Maybe TLD has something too. I say where someone on here soaked some in everclear and then let it evaporate and used that as a tincture. One drop under the tounge and BAM! Its called the greendragon recipe.

I was reading where Rick Simpson uses naptha as his solvent for the magic oil. I wonder if acetone would work, I got lots of that. I found a Harvard research where thc was dissolved in acetone with the same saturation point as alcohol but I've got to research more to see if any VOC's are left behind after it cooks off. Just have to be extra careful, lol :fire:

Whole new worlds of using our sacred herb. I'll have to try making me some of that dragon oil. :lol:

Man I don't understand the dispensaries only wanting indoor. Sure it's cleaner than most but not necesarilly better or more potent. Or even cleaner than some. Just guess the market is saturated right now. Great time to enhance your cooking skills though. Ha, wonder how the canna-cookies will go over during the holidays? Fast I bet!!! lol Adults only.

I would not use acetone its too volatile and flammable. I would use everclear. Grind it, soak it overnight, and then use the liquid for the butter. The alcohol will cook off.

I was reading phreakygoats recipe where you use a crok pot to cook the butter mix. Takes 4 hours. I was going to try that one since he seems to have tried a few methods. Now I just need a 5th of everclear.

but even if you soak the ganj in everclear, still add it along with the alcohol, wasn't sure from what you said if you were. also, put everything in a blender before adding to the butter if you go with the alcohol thing.

hell yeah, I got em too thanks to your heads up. I am psyched to see what happens, i'll plant them with the new year. i think kandykush(skunk) is up first for me. it's [LA og kush x trainwreck f4] x the ever present skunk. I'm intrigued to see how the skunk genes impact the plants.

WOW Slab! Thats alot of skunk crosses. Hope it doesnt attrack anything that eats skunk. You minght find a snake wrapped around one of those. I know you will like the JTR and DQ.

I can't wait for those to come in. If not by the 20th I'll start something else. The VK and the Papaya I guess. I like my idicas and want a seed run after clones.

If the DQ & JTR doensn't make it by then I'll wait bit. I'm sure getting the itch to grow again. :leaf:
