I tried "420" when i ordered cause i hear it works at Attitude or Nirvana or some other bank. It didnt work.

I do have one concern, maybe someone can help. Greenhouse Seeds dyes their seeds right? Is that a new thing? Cause i got "The Church", and i remember seeing in high times, that its a dyed seed. The seeds i got were not dyed. Maybe they are older?

I am pretty sure they are only dyed in the colored seed variety pack so you can tell which color is which strain. My slh, bubba, and kings were not colored.

Oh, ok, cool. I figured it was something like that. BTW the Church is the only one to pop out a taproot so far. Keep it up, little buddy!!!

Well, shit. After that whole wait, my seeds arent germinating. They looked small and underdeveloped; i hope i didnt get bullshit seeds. I should have just popped up some bagseed; i'd be half way through flowering by now. I have never had seeds take this long to germinate, WTF?

I bought 2 of each kind that i wanted, so if the first ones dont germ, i will try the second one. I only have one Afghan Kush Ryder, and i was really looking forward to getting an early harvest. If all else fails, i just got a bag of Blackberry Kush with a bunch of bagseed in it. It looks like good seed, and i can do it the old fashioned way, and select a mother from a bunch of sprouts. At least i know the mother is indica dominant, so it will stay (hopefully) short and bushy.

It sucks, because i put months of research into my seed selection. I picked something that had little stink while growing, was mold resistant, short and bushy, fast finishing, potent, descent yield, and it was a big deal to get feminized seed. I want to keep the number of plants to a certain amount or less, for legal reasons. If i have to go bagseed, i will for a round or two, but eventually i'll try ordering again. If nothing germs from single seed centre, i'll order from somewhere else obviously.

For one you have to take into consideration that The Single Seed Center, like other seedbanks, purchase and then resell seeds produced by professional breeders so if there is a germination problem is should be traced back to the breeder(s) and not only to the reseller of that breeder or breeders products.

As for germination rates from seeds purchased from The Single Seed Center, I have used them numerous times and while I do not keep records I would say in my experience the seeds I purchased from The Single Seed Center have had a successful germination rate that has been about as equal as could be to any other high quality seedbank I have used or do currently use.

But if you do not have a level or degree of confidence in the breeders products The Single Seed Center resells as you need there are other seedbanks that are good options.

Greetings growers this is for medical marijuana users and those who can use the information legally. Seedbank ratings are farther down and the links to growing information are near the end.

The seedbank update is over 12 years old and is the longest running seedbank rating service in the world. Use the list of rated seedbanks and you won't worry about being ripped off. Thanks again to the many people who send in reports on how they did with various vendors.
This is the season to be jolly so light up a big one and put a smile on your face. It's a good time for indoor grows. Get those seed orders in if you haven't already.

The post office in the USA often gets funny about delivering letters. People many times use a fake name to get orders sent to them. The trouble is that the letter carrier may not deliver it if they do not recognize the name. Before you send your order, send a letter to yourself using the name and see if it arrives. Then make your order. Ask the company first if they send to your country. If no reply, do not order.
If you have bought from a seedbank send in your report so that other people will know how good or bad it was. No seeds are sold from this site. This center is only for information. You may also send in a grow report on a variety you grew out.
To reach me write to [email protected] remove the ZZZ. Please do not write me at 37.com, only at the email address listed.

This group I've heard good things about. Those with four stars or more are the most reliable. They will send to most countries. I've tried to list those that ship worldwide. Those with a relatively low rating may just be new to the ratings. It takes a while to earn a good rating. A 1/2 means they are half way to the next star.

I keep getting bad reports on bc bud depot. Non delivery or poor quality seeds if they do arrive.

Attitude 4 star 1/2 (F****1/2)
Bluenose 3 star (***) (2)
Dr. Greenthumbs 4 star (F****) (1,2,3)
Hemp Depot
4 star and 1/2 (F****1/2) (1,2,4,)
Hemcy
4 and 1/2 star (F****1/2) (1,4)

Highland 2 star and 1/2 (**1/2)
Joey Weed 4 star and a half (F****1/2) (1,2)
Klozit King 3 star and 1/2 (***1/2) (1,2)
Natural Mystic 3 star and 1/2 (***1/2)
Peakseeds BC 4 star (****)
Seedboutique 3 stars and 1/2 (F***1/2) (1)
Seedbank.co.uk 2 star and 1/2 (**1/2)
Tambu 3 star (S***) (1,3)

The limited area seedbanks and a list of bad ones to avoid will be found farther down.

Check out the new and unrated seedbanks at the New page. These are seedbanks I've heard good things about but haven't had enough reports on to make a rating.

I don't have time to answer individual questions so I usually just tell people to do some reading. I have information on my site and links to other sites with even more info.

Would you like to see your grow report in the SU? Please include the name of the strain, where obtained, how it grew, potency and yield. Tell us the names of other strains you grew or smoked for comparison. Cultivation tips and news items are also welcome. You can get credit under any name you prefer or stay anonymous. If you like I will rewrite it for you.

This is a report on which seedbanks are reliable and give good service. I also list some bad ones to stay away from (crooks). Reports from people who have ordered from cannabis seedbanks are welcome. That's what this is based on, reports from people like you. You can send your report to me at [email protected] (remove ZZZ) If you send a report please state what bank you ordered from, how long it took and roughly how far away you are from them. I'd like to know if the packaging was stealty (well hidden) and what method used and if any seeds were crushed. Any other info you think is important will be appreciated. Reports on how the crop turned out are good too. I don't rate companies on price, that's up to you to compare. The more stars, the more reliable. F = faster than average, no letter = average, S = slow.

I have a system of additional ratings. They are a one (1) for accepting payment by money order or certified check without charging extra for it. A two (2) will be given for free stealth shipping. A three (3) will be given for accepting credit cards. This leaves a paper trail but is quick and easy. (4) indicates that they use PGP code for privacy on request. A five (5) means Western Union is accepted. A six (6) indicates customer complaints about seed quality. An example of the new rating might be Ed's seeds (***) (1,2) which means three stars and he gives free shipping and takes money orders with no extra charge.

These seedbanks send to certain countries only.

Dr Chronic 3 star and 1/2 (F***1/2)
Pukka 2 star (**) (1)
Sensi Seed 4 star and 1/2 (****1/2)
Nirvana Shop3 star and 1/2 (***1/2)
Seeds of Passion2 star (**)

These are seed breeders and wholesalers primarily. While they have a good reputation, I don't have enough information about their mail order seed business to make a rating.

BCGA
Bros Grimm
Dutch Passion
Fantaseeds
Greenhouse
Homegrown Fantaseed
KC Brains
Serious
(and many others)

This is the rip-off section. The following seedbanks I've heard many bad things about. They are NOT recommended. aka means also known as. X means they seldom or never send the product. N means sending non viable seeds (non sprouting seeds) M indicates they send very inferior seeds or nothing at all

A-1 Seedbank (X,N)
BC Seeds (X,M)
Beeoo (X)
Fairlight (X,N)
Greenmanspage (X,M)
marijuanaseed.us (X) Software Services aka Cannabis4u aka Medical hemp aka [email protected] [L.Pafort] (X)
Richies Seedshack (X)
Stinkey's (X)
Weedseed (X)
Pot a Gold (X)

These seedbanks are not recommended due to excessive complaints. This is a judgement call and some customers have said they were satisfied. The nature of the complaints are as follows: 10 = non delivery, 11 = very poor customer service, 12 = inferior quality or misrepresented seeds, 13 = unethical conduct by seedbank owner.
BCbuddepot (11, 10)
Bullmall aka Bull-electrical.com (10, 11)
Cannabisseeds.com (10) Ganjaland (10)
Greater Harmony (10)
Kindseed (10)
Laughing Moon (10, 11)
Seedbank Co uk (11)
Seedbank.com (10)
Topseeds (10)

Whoa, i'm honored, THE Brick Top stopped by my thread, even though i'm germinating indica lineage seeds.

I have seeds from World of Seeds, Barney's Farm, and Greenhouse Seeds, and none are germinating, so i doubt it's any one particular breeder. I'm thinking maybe i did something wrong. If these don't pop out taproots, and i go to round 2, i will try putting them directly in soilless mix, and place them under a light, instead of the paper towel method. And, i will put some bagseed in the same soilless mix, and if the bagseed pops, and the SSC seeds from 3 different breeders all dont pop, than i will know for sure.

Maybe it was my fault, maybe it was the breeders, maybe something happened during shipping. I'll find out within a few weeks.

Just out of curiosity, were the Green House Seeds some of their colored seeds?

Not to be offensive but if seeds from three different breeders didn't pop I think it might be a case of 'operator error.' I am not much of a fan of many Green House Seeds strains and their colored beans in particular seem to have low germination rates. I am not much of a fan of Barney's Farm and because of that I have not tried enough of Barney's strains to know if they have problems on a regular basis. What few I have tried all popped. World of Seeds seeds should be expected to pop at a high rate.

They were not colored. Feminized The Church. The BF were LSD, and the WOS are 1 Afghan Kush Ryder, and 1 Afghan Kush Special. They were the free with order seeds.

I tried a different method. Normally, i do the paper towel on a plate method, or drop them straight into soil, but since i wanted to keep them separate, i put them in their own little paper towel and put them back in the little ziplock bag they came in. I soaked the paper towel and placed them all on my wireless router. I think i might have kept it too wet or something. Next round, i'll put them in soil, and try bagseed under the same conditions, so i will know for sure if it was me or the seeds.

The reason I asked of the GHS seeds were colored is they seem to have a lower rate of germination than their other seeds so if they were colored I would think it less likely to be either 'operator error' or just bad luck.

What you said about possibly being too wet could have been the case if the seeds were all very fresh seeds. A very fresh seed will have a high moisture content and either dropping them into a glass or water to soak them or using some variation of the paper towel method where they remain too wet will do them in. On the other hand if you did receive old stock that was rather dried out possibly if you soaked them first and then switched to the paper towel method they might have popped.

You just never really know with beans.

Not that I am telling you or anyone that what I do is the best variation of the paper towel method, but it works for me ... and I will explain it as I do it when I have mixed beans and want to be able to tell them apart.

I use a freshly washed very well rinsed out wash cloth rather than a paper towel. The fibers of the wash cloth protrude and make better contact with more of the seed surface when covered.

I use a Tupperware container that when a standard sized wash cloth is folded in fourths the wash cloth lays flat on the bottom of the container and fills it up so there is no room for moisture to run from the wash cloth. I place the folded wash cloth in the Tupperware container folded in fourths lying flat on the bottom and I cover it with distilled water and let it sit until full soaked. I pour out the excess water and then let the container sit at an angle for about 10 minutes so any additional excess moisture will run to one side and then, if there is any, I pour that out, but I do not squeeze out any more water. What remains after the two pourings is what will remain.

I lift the top 'flap' of the folded wash cloth and that is where the seeds are placed, between what would be four layers of moist wash cloth after the top 'flap' of folded wash cloth is laid on top of the seeds.

I marked the top and lower portion of the container with a line and always seal it with the marks in line with each other. I place the mixed beans at positions of hours on a clock, 12:00, 3:00, 6:00 etc., or whatever spacing I need for the number of beans I am popping. Where the marked line is, is the 12:00 position. As I place each bean I make note of it's position on a small piece of paper that I then tape to the top/lid of the container so as each pops and is removed for planting I always know what each bean is and I can keep them all in one container and all will be in the same conditions/environment/temperature. Then it goes into a warm dark area and I cross my fingers, toes, legs and eyes and hope and wait.

I have never kept any records of germination rates but I would guess it to easily be in the upper 90% range. The only time I have ever had a MAJOR germination problem was years back when I purchased a pack of 10 seeds from Heaven's Stairway. Not one seed popped. I notified them and they sent another pack. Not one seed popped. I notified them again and they asked if I wanted to try a third pack or pick something else of the same price. I told them I wanted something different, slightly more expensive and I sent the additional amount of money, they sent the seeds, along with another pack of the same strain that would not pop. The different strain had 100% germination but not a single seed from the third pack of the same strain would pop. After 30 seeds from one breeder failed to pop I felt sure they were non-viable seeds and decided to not count their flaw against my general/roughly guessed successful germination percentage.

I do not recall the breeder's name now but when RC's 'empire' of Overgrown, Cannabis World, Heaven's Stairway and the Cbay auction were taken down, not all that long after the Marc Emery thing if I remember correctly, the breeder seemed to vanish from the face of the planet. I never saw any of his gear for sale anywhere after that. Before the downfall of RC's 'empire' I never purchased another pack of beans from that breeder.

While I do use my variation of the paper towel method fairly often I prefer germinating right in the soil/in the pots. When I do I have every bit as high of a germination rate and the plants seem to have more vigor. The only reason I do not always put seeds directly into my soil is because my 'soil' is not exactly soil and due to the drainage and evaporation rate if I want to start seeds that way I need to make a small 'pocket' of soil in the center of my growing medium that will retain moisture better/longer or else I need to keep dripping the area with the seeds with water very often to keep the seeds moist enough to pop, and the combination of the two is enough that at times I will instead use my variation of the paper towel method.

I hope you have much better luck next time!
