So I came across some pictures that almost dead on resembles my situation, What do you guy think?

brown spots

yellowing from bottom up

when ever I did into the middle? The soil around is dry but right around where the roots seem to be they seem to stay moist. Thinking about repotting the weak looking ones and adding more peatmoss. only because they don't seem to be making a lot of progress the healthy one seem to grow a new node about every week. Most of the others...:/ notta lotta

Sooo 1 and a half in this is whats what.

So what kind of soil is that? it looks like straight wood chips! I believe your problem is moisture retention in the soil, The roots need to dry out and breath, and I don't believe that is happening. Many cheaper soils use a lot of wood chips to make up the bulk of the 'soil' they sell. The trouble with that is that the wood soaks up the moisture and retains it, keeping the roots damp. If I where you I would transplant into a more balanced soil. You want to keep the young ones on the dry side so they are forced to stretch their roots out in the search for water.

Just my 2 cents.

So, 2 hours, and about a bucket of sweat. Re-potted and everyone seems to be liking it even the bad looking ones are reaching reaching for the sky.

Mixed top soil with perlite and compost. No water because as suggested the roots on most of them were swimming when I got most of the old mixture off. I was concerned about replanting such long roots but I assume they will re position themselves?

Here's what the soil looks like now vs before IMG_0254.jpgIMG_0242.jpg
