Morp how is the Lowryder2 coming along is have decided to change tack after all that masterlow talk and go for afghani ryder basicaly the same but lowryder crossed with afghani no.1

hey jolly, funnily enough ive been looking to get some afghani #1 seeds to cross with some strains, lowryder2 being one of them..
think i saw a pic of an afghani rider on a forum somewhere and it looked very nice, hope they do you just as well! id also been looking for the soulseeds.co.uk address for a while cause id forgotten it, cheers for the bump!
anyways, the lr2 is still coming good, gonna give her the last feed tomorrow. not sure how much ill harvest and when, but we shall see next tuesday

Yeah morp! sound good, i also think im might be extending my grow, im going to use the sea of green method and have 4 growing in a larger box i think i have a job starting on monday (fingers crossed) so im going to buy a 2x2x3 cabinet or something and grow some more, : )

think my lr2 might have a pottasium defficiency.. leaves are turning yellow at the edges, and curling up slightly at the end. temps havent been higher than 86f.. also seems like a couple of the earliest leaves, having turned yellow as usual, have maybe got some mould on, im not sure. i checked the hydrometer today after being away for a day and the high was 80%, far too high for my liking at this stage. i just hope the buds wont of been affected...
with the k defficient leaves higher up, will the trichomes on the leaves be damaged? i was hoping to use them for hash..
ill get some pics later this evening, hopefully someone can help me out.

okay, here are some photos...
pic 1 & 2 show what i believe to be a k defficiency. (yellow edges, and purple tints in leaves)
pic 3 shows my lr2 (leaves arent as yellow as they appear in this pic)
pic 4 is the thai.
im flushing the lr2 this week so i dont want to give any nutrients. what shall i do people? i could chop anytime, although i was going to wait until this coming friday if the k defficiency isnt too much of a problem... im getting itchy fingers though...
any advice or feedback much appreciated

thanks for the kind words bbe! im just hoping the lr2 can get through to harvest without the k defficiency causing too many problems. i am reluctant to use any nutes as im flushing the little chap out.. i was going to chop her on the 29/6/07 but maybe ill cut her on 26/6/07 depending on how she fares..
i know the pics arent the best quality, ive been using my phone for the last few weeks and it isnt the best...

okay, the lr2 has been chopped. ive left a couple of lower branches on for a bit more maturation.
yield was 85g wet, so i guesstimate around 20g dry. not the oz i was hoping for, but theres still those lower branches budding away!
time for some pics. it took me about an hour and a half to trim, during which time my scissors got got very sticky. i wiped some onto a rizla and made a joint, which was nice. im gonna hot knife the rest of the residue after writing this..
anyways, pictures.
1st is what i cut off while reading the jobbies,
2nd is the main cola,
3rd is them hanging up
4th are the remains...

i have no idea how premature thisll be, but i reckon at least 4 weeks... seems to be taking forever to bulk up. how did yours turn out? at least ill get some smoke from her...

right. the exciting part.
i checked the buds today and weighed them. the stems snapped when i tried, so this indicates to me that theyre now dry enough to stick in the curing jars. the main cola which had previously weighed 42.8g now weighs 12g. estimating a weight loss of 75%, i had expected this bud to weigh more like 10.7g, so maybe it is not entirely dry...
anyways, the dry weight of the buds id chopped is 24g, so a bit less than an ounce. i estimate ill get a further 3g or so from the remaining branches, so about an ounce all in all. im happy with that!

i know its not cured yet, but i thought id smoke a couple of joints now to compare to the post-cure bud...
grinding the bud shows that it is not completely dry and crumbly, but still perfectly smokeable. just means ill have to be vigilant on my burping..
buds i smoked tasted very sweet and spicy, and suprisingly smooth. passed one around and a friend commented on the taste, not realising it was the 'homegrown', and asked who i got it from (made me happy).
strength is good. i only rolled .3 joints because i want to cure the rest properly, but it is definately more potent than the majority of stuff id buy. not a terribly couch lock effect, just a nice high, tasty buzz..
ill wait a week or so and give a wake and bake report maybe...

for those of you interested, my thai lady is still in flowering. i have been advised to cut the light hours down to 14/10 rather than 12/12 to speed the process a little, so that is what ive done. hopefully this will allow at least a little more maturation before her untimely execution...
