Show Me What You Got LST?

Trying a bit of LST for the first time today. Kandy Kush feminized. I'd like to prevent it from getting taller than my balcony railing. I'm also thinking about topping her shortly.

Is it necessary to also tie the "anchor" line at the bottom, pulling in the opposite direction?

And, approximately 6 hours later. Already reaching for the sun.
Mine did the same in about the same amount of time. Only, you know... reaching for the light, instead of the actual sun. Ha. Just checking on it every now and again to keep up with it's growth, it's easy (for me, at least) to forget that this is a living thing. When it moves toward the light in six or so hours, after some LST. It really clues you in. Blows your mind.

... or maybe I'm just high.

The trusty lst shoelace...nice.
Hah, close. I actually tried a shoelace first, but switched to this. It's the flexible strap from an oxygen mask. The strap that goes around the back of your head, holding the mask to your face. I like that it is flat and has flexibility. I tightened it up today.

in the past week i think they grew a least a foot will have some pics later on tonight the only thing is i had tied them with string and some were looser then others and the stalk grew around the tighter ones i hope it didn t affect them too much. it s your perogitive mc p i was just passing on news from one to another thats all no offense, smaller grows are not supposed to be affected but it depends on light you r using, if the light penetrates the bucket supposedly it causes problems for the roots?

Just throwin up some more LST pix.

3 different plants here. All the same strain. I seperated each individual plants pictures by putting a picture of the flower room inbetween them. So after you look at a group of pix, and get to a pic of the entire flower room, the next set of pix will be of a different plant.

Oh and these pix are about 2 weeks old... Just been to lazy to get some new ones.

Hell, I'll post an update of my LST experiment. Maybe some folks can give a little advice too. You can see the prior pics of this plant at post # 1122, above. It's a Kandy Kush, sprouted on May 20, in a 3 gallon pot. I tied her down, and she grew close to another foot or so, and I tied that portion down as well - and topped it. Now, it's basically a "J" shape going around the top of the pot.

It's on my balcony, fairly stealthy setup. My balcony railing is at about 33 inches, as is the newly installed lattice. In a perfect world, I'd like to keep the plant no taller than that. I'd be happy if I kept it to 3 feet. Will I be able to continue circling the top of the bucket with her, and continue circling the tomato cage that's in place? My other option is to eventually start tying it to the lattice, but that would mean giving up the ability to move the pot.

Any thoughts/suggestions appreciated. Cheers.

This is what I ended up with last year, and I'd like to avoid that if possible.

thats a nice lsted girl u got goin and last years plant looks great but ya a lil to tall for the balcony. if it were me i would tie the plant to the middle of the lattice and keep tying as she grows so she kind grows along the fence. and also tie her down some for the first 2 weeks of flower to pull the streching down.

in this pic the guy was tryin to do the same thing but he super cropped it so it fell over making a 90 degree angl then tied it to a post for support. and did that as it grew:mrgreen:

Thanks mcpurple. Yeah, I may just end up tying the branches onto the lattice. That makes the most sense, but I'm just keeping an eye on it for now.

I just started a grow when I'll be making a side-by-side comparison of LST vs Topping. I'll be sure to post pics here as well as on my journal in case anyone wants to see the difference if they need help making a decision
