driving is a privilege. having a child is a basic human right.
and while i may agree that mentally handicapped people have no business raising a child, i am adamantly opposed to sterilizing any part of the population, especially based on the results of a human-administered intelligence test that is subject to bias with an arbitrary number deciding who gets to keep their basic human rights and who must undergo a mandatory medical procedure.

I get it and agree with you for the most part. No one should be required to do anything they don't want just because someone else says, especially a surgical procedure.

Yeah, I got a little ahead of myself with the whole 'test' idea. It sounded good at the moment until you made me actually think about it. Only in a world where intelligence and the progression of the human race was a priority, would it be accepted.
I still stand beside my point about the mentally handicapped and whether they should have kids or not. Also depends if they can take care of themselves or not. Remember that movie 'I am Sam?'
I actually shed a tear for that man.

But I digress, as to the question of who determines our basic human rights... I'd like to think, laws and burocracy aside, that we naturally, through empathy, have an idea as to what "rights" we have as humans..... but maybe that's just some hippie shit...

I don't know why forced sterilization keeps getting brought up, there are other means of contraception now-a-days that don't require you to undergo a surgical procedure. Depo shot for example.
If they want to fuck than so be it but there should be some form of contraception preventing an unfit mother from having a child.
