Setting up a new room 7`x14`

Many HPS SE bulbs are universal meaning they can run base up. You can get a socket that has a hanger on it.

I have a 315 CMH that runs vertical. I have a philips bulb in it. I think the 315s are good vertical, not sure about the DE's.

I say HPS because the far red and they put off the most heat for the watts too with the IR. Could help with leaf surface temps a little bit perhaps.

It needs to run off the ballast.

To use a thermostat off your lighting controller you would need to have one thats compatible with 240 volts or use a slave relay. You could put this extra light on 120 volts using a separate timer and then use an cheap inkbird to manage the temperature. Set it to run up to within a few degrees of the vent fan kicking on. If the room doesn't get warm from the LED this will add heat but not provoke ventilation and that allows you to run CO2

you know what, fk it, ima throw my 600w hps in there. See how the room reacts. Ill just toss 1 plant under it down at the end of the room, should add atleast 5f to the temps i would hope lol

Its an air cooled hood, can i run it without exhaust hooked directly to it? Ill even remove glass to allow a little more heat to flow

Holding steady at 75f and 60% rh after 5 hours

Damn so I prob wouldn't have needed ac at all if went led. That's awesome your temps are so low with lights on. I think I'll try my quantum boards out again in the fall. I have to finish my veg room before I can do it tho, I'm using my tents to veg next run in. Hopefully I get better results than last time. If I could learn to grow quality bud under led I could do so much more with my soace. Rootrisers sells 4x8 tables that have two levels, I could def get two of those and almost double my canopy space. But I really gotta figure out how to use the led first and see if can match the quality I get.

How many watts led you think it takes to cover a 4x8? If I get away with 1000 watts per 4x8 I could double my canopy and keep wattage the same.

30 w/sqft2 is the minimum the led guys are suggesting for flowering. 50 being on the high end.

Temps have increased a little, now that the entire room is warmed up from running 24 hours.

before lights out it was 79f/65 rh

Well it will be a while before I take that leap as I just got these new gavitas not long ago and gonna see how I get along with them so far so good

Cant go wrong with Gavitas , those lights can grow some bud.

I was considering filling the room with hps or cmh but heat had me concerned, so i went the LED route, now lack of heat is an issue lol

nothing that cant be corrected tho, hopefully within a few days ill have the room running properly.

So all of this heat talk got me thinking. As of now i still havent used the exhaust in this room, temps havent risen enough to kick exhaust on. Is this gonna cause issues? stale/stagnant air?

Will lack of air exchange be an issue? i may have to add co2 just to enrich the air.

Yep. Sealed and CO2'd.
What do I need to buy to run co2 lol

Gonna go with the bottle.

What regulator are guys using? I guess I'll need a co2 sensor obv, cause what I bought only has the timer.

My bro can hook me with full tanks as needed.

I just gotta set it up

Well thats more to do with cooling than the CO2. If it was me and I have the stuff I would do it just to have it for hard times.
Ya agreed

It's all there in boxes, just as well to install it and have there just in case.

So am I still hooking everything else up the same?

Exhaust and intake on the temp side
Dehuey on separate plug running 24/7 on set rh
Co2 on co2 side

I think that's it

Well is your CO2 is gonna be running off another controller that reads PPM? Here is the thing. You want the environmental controller to handle the CO2 because it will disable CO2 when the cooling output kicks on. If you use a different controller to run the CO2 then your ventilation could kick on while CO2 is being released and thats just wasteful. Seeing that you got the controller that only has a timer for CO2 you are in a little bit of a conundrum. If you run the CO2 on the timer and grab one of the autopilot meters I had linked that just displays the CO2 levels you could probably get the timer setup pretty close but it will need adjustment as the plants grow and suck up the CO2 faster.

Were it me I would get the environmental controller I had linked that does the CO2 on a PPM basis and sell the one with the timer for CO2.

and if the ventilation kicks on the CO2 PPM will drop and if on a separate controller the CO2 would be released while the venting cycle is still going.

ugh ya that all makes sense, makes me also wonder what the actual point of this saturn 5 is. Its good for temp and rh, but the co2 side seems flawed, if that side is only a timer and no readings, its never gonna be completely accurate once you have to buy another controller for your co2 to run off.

i guess the best thing to do, as you said, would be send it back and get that spartan or the autopilot you linked.

Another stoned purchase that really paid off lol. Even after you already told me it wasnt what i wanted. Sometimes i even surprise myself lol
