Sessions: Marijuana Is “Only Slightly Less Awful” Than Heroin

The President doesn't make the laws. Here is a handy guide:

If congress decides how the drug schedule shakes out then why was everyone waiting on the DEA when they were talking about looking at it to decide if it needed to be rescheduled. Seems more like a unelected bureaucracy makes that call. Isn't the commander in chief their boss?

An executive order and a couple phone calls carry a lot of weight. At least for the duration of the term.

It gets disgusting to hear certain people say, 'have the marijuana laws changed?'.

It's not about that, it's about politicians more favorable to decriminalization/legalization.
Does anybody here really think weed is a crime?

If we ever elect someone who actually smokes weed, things would change on day 1.

Weed laws are based in racism from the 1920's and Nixon started the schedule 1 shit because he didn't like the people who were smoking it and wanted to hurt them. If you ever got pinched for weed, Nixon is your personal enemy. And no-fucking-body can seriously argue that.

Oh yeah, I am aware of that, But i mean if sessions really wants to be more of lying discriminatory stereotyping piece of dog shit, What are the consequences if states don't follow through with Federal orders ? ( I'm just using my imagination on this one here because i don't see states going that far with it) Especially under numb nuts administration.

Do they get potentially cut off from certain federal grants/loans etc?
Yes, federal law > state law but....
What's it cost to do something like a 'full on crackdown' like the fucking 90s and 2000s
Millions again? Billions?

States may see the money they bring in and say' fuck your 50$ million grant or what be it, if they see 50-100-+ $ million in revenue

Will it just be like Canada was with State legalization but the feds shutting down Cannabis shops just for them to re-open in a week or 2?
Even though I live in Colorado, I don't have a good answer for your question.

They've just passed a law here to reclassify all Cannabis production as 'medical' in case of a crackdown. To my knowledge, that's as much of a thumb in the eye of Federal overreach as any legislative action I've ever heard of.

No he didn't. Congress makes the laws, not the president. You should read the U.S. Constitution.

Moreover, Congressional and Senate Republicans vowed to not cooperate with the Obama administration at all. So that channel was closed to him.

You shouldn't blame somebody for something beyond their power.

Two questions.

Is the Constitution a contract? If it is, who is it between ?
