Seeds from Pre - Flowers

hey breeders paradise!

i have a quick question, is there typically any issues with using seeds that came from pre-flower calyxes??

i accidentally triggered a male to flower that was in veg, at the same time the older females in the room sprouted a few extra pre flowers here and there like they almost started to flower.

well the male (a very apical dominant and skunky nirvana medusa) pollenated the female (nirvana venus flytrap, very nice pheno too) next to it, and i have about 7 or so pre flowers with big fat seeds growing in them... they have resin on them too, its kinda crazy looking.

my buddy got rid of venus and didnt make it clear to me, so im glad i may have found a way to preserve its genes somewhat.

anyone have exp with this??

Keep the seeds man they should still be viable. I got a couple out of some clones i took as the male must've popped a sack just before i took them. The seeds are as black as can be too and popped within 12 hours

it happened to me once, a plant got pollinated so early all seeds were on the stems and no seeds in the buds! it was great! Wait until u harvest the buds to harvest the seeds unless the calyxe dies off and go brown, u might want to collect the seeds before they falls.

You will not get a full expression of the cross with just a few seeds, so you may get a keeper but you are only seeing some of the population of the progeny and not a full representation. Feal lucky?

Those seeds are no different than any other mature seed from anywhere else on the plant.

would the 24-18 (either way a veg cycle) hour on light cycle mess with them at all either?? like do i need to do anything in particular to look for when they are opitmal to harvest? thanks ahead of time. if this stuff turns out good ill remember you guys. i have more seeds than i know what to do with.

it seems to answer my above Q the calyxes that are swollen with seed will start to darken or decompose on the outside where it was green/purple before. obviously waiting unuil the last minute is best it seems.

i picked about 8 seeds off of it so far. some of the calyxes looked iffy but turned out good seeds. tiger stripped spotted and spot on shape color size etc....


a very, very good, skunky, high hash ratio pheno of venus flytrap x a stinky, very apically dominant medusa male. should produce something nice. i cant wait to try them.

looks like i made some G13 labs PE x my medusa male and some of my own Purple Grape Ape x my medusa. so i got some cool seeds all by accident really... i basically just didnt throw out the male. left it downstairs near in the veg closet. only a small amount made it around the house and got upstairs to the females.

i cant find any seeds on the Fruity Chronic Juice, which is the one other female i have upstairs right now that could have been pollinated. but they might still be a couple deep in there.

ill try to keep this updated over time and show how the seeds preformed. been hoping to make seeds of both the grape ape and venus ft. so glad it happened.
