seedlings are almost dead help!!!

I germed in water than paper towel and went right into the clay pebbles I just had the water level high and they're doing great. I've read a top feed isn't needed with bubbleponics just keep your water level high. Why are you using 400w hps on 1 plant, isn't that a huge waste of energy and gonna stretch them like crazy in veg?
*disclamer I'm a super newb just trying to pass along what I did and what over read on every forum I can find

All good man i have 3 in there but 2 have not sprouted yet and cause my tent is cool enough I can have it closer :)

I would sprout directly in medium.

If you can not get the kinks worked out, sprout them in dirt until 6 in tall. You can remove them from dirt and wash the roots and transplant to pebbles. Don't be scared to handle roots, be gentle.

When a seed sprouts it has very fine roots that can break when moving them. That is why i say sprout in the rock wool.

Drop the hps, go to wal mart ant get a 4 pack great value 23w 5000k bulbs for 8.88. One for each plant. Run them until a few sets of leaves set in. Or raise the hps. Lower if you see to much stretch.
Do i run my top dripaper on medium or rockwool

Rock wool. I would. Your looking for moisture but not too much.

You want it damp like your paper towel. It needs to dry some.

yeah, seedlings don't need very much light, 50w is fine, too much light can actually hurt the little ones and little clones, for seedlings a 400w light should be 3 feet away to start and let the babies get adjusted to the high intensity of the light. I use 2 bulb 32w floro lights for seedlings until they get a big enough root system to handle more light.

edit: even start the light at 4 feet just to be safe, I'm not sure how hot yours gets, but it's easier to lower it a couple inches each day and see how they react

It takes a little while for the plant to stress to the point of dying, it was probably stressed before the 2 days but you didn't notice, and then on the 2nd day they were almost dead, right? Just trying to help, the light is the problem, I have a few grows (15 years) under my belt and I have went through the same thing. If I put rooted clones under a 400w light 24" away right away, they would probably wilt, too. Small root systems can't take intense light. Also, if you were to put a seedling you started indoors and then move it directly under sunlight outside, that seedling would most likely die under the sun as well. For your next batch of seeds don't use the 400w, only use that when they are at least 6" tall and have multiple sets of leaves. Get yourself a 48" 2 bulb t8 light from home depot, i think it's $25 for everything, and use that until they are big enough.

Here's the size of some plants I keep under the 32w t8 bulbs. Just for reference, the bigger plants in Dwc buckets will be going under a bigger light in a few days. If I put any of the others under hid lighting at the moment they would be stunted for a little while. Hope this helps.
