Seedling Problems! Need Help Quick.

Hello All,

I have currently got 4 Germinated seeds in small pots and one has come through the soil and is roughly an inch tall

The seedling had some soil on the top so I picked it off and then realized that I actually pulled off the seed cap :/

I am not sure if I have done something wrong or not, the seed cap did come off very easily but the seedling had not yet started to produce any leaves.

Is this okay or have I killed it?

Also I noticed that the seed cap had a white creamy substance inside it and also there is some on top of the stem.

Is this a fungal infection due to the humidity? And if so can I rectify it?

Thanks in advance for your help guys, it's much appreciated :)

I germinate with sunshine mix 4 in a baggie about 2 or 3 fingers of sm4 that's been watered and drained for a day and warned and kept at 90* F till the shells come off then you put'em in the cups covered with plastic for a day under a cfl's or a flo this is my never fail method of germination but seriously before I did it this way I would take tweezers and pry the shells off and pull that slimy membrane off too that incases the first two leaves as soon as I seen them crack their ass open this is to speed up the time of germination you should only try to remove the shell by hand when they've been in a warn and humid place and you still going to freak them up~

It's like an egg..the slimy stuff is like the yolk, it's feeding the seedling..you should be fine but don't do that in the future..looks like you understand that already though
