Seedfinder new interface

seedfinder.eu has a new interface. What do you think about it? I miss the old interface.

Make suggestions here...

Edit: you have to log in to reply at the link with suggestions. I tried to log in and got "error 500" when using the "forgot password". Others are saying they get error 500 when attempting to log in too. Seems they rolled it out without thorough testing. They did make contact on another forum. Hopefully, they will figure out the kinks sooner than later. It's an awesome resource for all of us. I've spent many hours looking through strain lineages there.

That sadly looks like a degrade. The old site was pretty well structured. I haven't looked at the new strain history trees but the first impression is that it looks worse than the old design.

Edit: After testing the new site for 5 minutes I have to agree that it's a total mess. You can't navigate the site properly anymore and the gene/history trees are some cheap plugin instead of the old in house solution.

The new search function is a complete joke with no suggestion trees, just a A-Z list without any parent root structure. You know the site is broken when it's easier to use Google to search on the site than it is to use the sites own search function.

i dont like they called this

https://seedfinder.eu/en/seedbanks seed cop / seed police

like what, who is verifying these are reputable businesses, who has deemed themselves the person to be the one to claim if someone is good or bad though they been looking at a cease and desist over that shit

interesting to note that those are are advertising on the main page are highly rated as reputable,

I think most of the info on the site is user reported. Very possible they may massage the rankings for their sponsors. think this has been on the site for quite a while, not a new feature.

Yep noticed this today as well. It's hideous, and nowhere near as easy to pull up lineages when I have to zoom in and see a family tree. Was so much easier to get all that info when it was listed vertically. It's like they're copying Leafly's POS website. Dumb.

Should've seen this coming honestly. It is a fairly well-trafficked site, and their strain database, while not perfect, is valuable. And no one else really has that unique kind of data ("breeder-lingo-lineages") and not nearly to the same extent. It's valuable. But I know there was a kerfuffle not long ago and quite a few lineages were re-written on seedfinder (just look at haze as an example). Seems narratives were being re-written to suit marketing needs.... and I think a few of their "top verified super duper seedbank friends" all decided they needed to cash-in since they're all old farts now. It isn't just seedfinder, it's other forums too. I'm kinda glad seeds don't get sold here. It's cool you can advertise, but thankfully there's no seed shop.

Idc about the drama, I only came for the lineages, and now I'm sad.

If I had the time, I would love to build a site dedicated to lineages. I would present them just like seedfinder used to. The biggest hurdle is having all that data. Community-driven databases are probably wishful thinking though. But anyway, yeah, it'd be like seedfinder lineages, minus all the other crap.

webites like that require money to stay afloat, im not saying they are doing it

im just saying i dont like the verbiage of police / cop and they didnt use that before

Who dictates who green and whos red, if its member / user driven we all know that people often lie, look how many negative reviews companies get here, where the customer was simply an asshole, these customers go on forum rampages, they make new accounts go on every forum complain lie etc,
so obviously they will do it to seedfinder.

who is judge of whats accurate report or not. who deems themselves neutral enough to have the ability to say yes or no this review is legit, and than its one sided because i can sure as fuck tell you not all of these seed banks or breeders are answering seedfinders reviews or request for specific company data and customer service interactions

theres a gigantic pitfall with this leveling system which they did not have before

I guess that's what I'm getting at... it isn't just one dude at seedfinder behind the curtain. He's in cahoots, clearly, with well-known individuals in the community (mostly across the pond) that are trying to stay relevant and paint themselves the ultimate authorities on weed. Seedfinder didn't do this by themselves, they are getting some sort of kick back from them.

And yeah I get the whole they shouldn't say whos good and bad like that lol. I'm just saying, I know exactly who's behind it

Come to think of it... I bet the new graphic family tree style was a way to thwart would-be data scrapers. It certainly wasn't because it looks better or is easier to get info from

Scratch that. It's all still html.. which is a fascinating decision since they could've built the same thing in javascript and obfuscated it, so it's actually just as scrapable as before lol
