Seed Germination Issue

So I am not a newbie and will be posting this as well in plant problems, but this is somewhat of a newbie question. The last few times I've tried germinating seeds, from various breeders and distributors, I seem to get something like a 10% germination rate all the way through. Most seeds will pop and then nothing more. The water has always been tap water and I use the paper towel method. I normally wait till I see the tap root at about half an inch length and then put em in jiffy peat pellets or some variant of seed starting mix. Usually in the past it takes 2-4 days before most seeds are ready to be put in their first medium. Now currently the seeds seem to stall out and I don't really know what could be wrong. Maybe I'm jumping the gun on the post and the seeds just are taking long, but I'm at roughly day 5 with 1 fully ready seed out of 20 and at this point
I'm just tossing money in the trash on seeds. like I said they are different breeders and the seeds from 1 pack looked very healthy so I assume the problem is something I'm doing and not the seeds being old or bunk.

I think you have this posted twice in different thread categories on here. One should be enough.

Put them directly into dirt. Keep it moist. Not wet. Humidity dome okay until seedlings are up.

Another thread about germination problems when using the paper towel method. Just place the seeds in rapid rooters and put them in a drawer at room temperature. Foolproof.
Sorry soil no longer works and we use paper towel for germination, leds then jar the harvest on day five....

At least this is what most idiots think....!

thx guys, I used to always do em in paper towels in my drawer with near perfect rates and just recently copped for the dome thinking it would improve my germination results. Maybe that was the mistake or maybe it was leaving the dome on giving em like 80% humidity. I always thought high humidity was good for plants up through the first month of veg but it seems i was grossly wrong.

When I do my seeds I germinate on paper towel in a warm dark place. Usually have roots in 48 hours. Wait till they are about 1-2 inches long the tap root.

When planting, plant in solo cup. Make sure there is drainage holes. Before planting, water the entire cup for a bit of run off comes out. Plant seed about 1-2 inches deep. Put a little bit of soil on top of where the seed is but not a lot. Keep in a warm area at least 24C. Don’t water at all. No need if you already soaked your soil. Did that with mine and never had an issue. Before his method, I was having a lot of issues.
