Seed Genetics Quesiton

Hi Guys,

I was going to put this on the seed side but it seems that this might be a bit more technical of a question to answer as it has to do with genetics.

So I was lucky enough to get a few seeds from two really nice phenos. I live in South Africa and we have rotational blackouts so I am pretty sure that is the reason why these little gems have appeared.

I have some questions though cause I am new to this.

Firstly, will there be a chance I get a male out of these seeds? The seeds that the mother came from were feminized so what's the chances that these stress babies produce a male? I am really interested in breeding.

Secondly, from a genetics perspective, are these wildcards or will these seeds produce the same type of growth nature as its mother? I know that seeds from the seed back are like playing the lotto but cause of the way these seeds came into being, is that applicable to them as well? Luck of the draw or very similar to its mommy?

Seeds that you didn't purposefully create do run the risk of having undesirable results, but, very generally speaking, the chances of that seed being female are high simply because there was no male pollen involved. It SHOULD express similar traits of the plant it came from (key point, SIMILAR not exactly the same) and if the weed was good enough, take a chance on it. After all, Chemdog was a bagseed & is still one of the most popular strains today.

So the Guerilla Glue I just grew and the Purple Punch I am about to harvest (I am hoping that there are at least one or two seeds in there) are really good genetics so I would love to see what the seeds do. Shit if I get a male I will shit myself in a good way.

The idea of creating my own genetics has literally landed with me so yeah I appreciate the advice. Even if I don't get a male, the characteristics of the mother is top notch so its definitely something I will explore.

Reap, you didn't mention anyone else in your neighborhood growing but I bet there is. Pollen is miniscule and carries on the wind.

I wouldn't bother with those my man, I only grow the best genetics bud. Growing mids is gonna keep you broke. Only elites for me, that's how I paid for my Maserati and my yacht.
