Haul from the last shucking session with Chemdog'91(skva) BX1 up front. I don't know what the plans for these '91BX1 beans are (other than finding a male for the BX2), may just throw them into the freebie basket. I know I'm shooting myself in the foot by not slapping a hefty price tag on these BX's. Maybe a Chem D BX and Chem'91 BX double pack can be an option, who knows?

Chem'91 BX sounds like another winner. More temptation. :p

I have had a lot of fun doing the side by side with the Chem'91 crosses so I love the sound of the double pack. A fun side plot to the grow comparing them. Multi pack encouragement from my point of view.
Skunky VA may be a week ahead of the Granny Skunk crosses. I will put a pic of her up soon. I still can't decide between the 2, the smoke off will be the final test. More fun. :weed:

Just an update on my first Gelato x Ecto Cooler... Took a picture but for whatever reason can't get it to load up on my PC so oh well....

After hang/paper sack dry... I tried it out. Smell was great, taste was peanut butter cookie dough with just a hint of citrus that gave it kind of a mint after taste. I will admit, the buzz left something to be desired. After a week in the jar, I tried another. Once again, same marvelous taste and smell, but the buzz was still underwhelming.

Last night hit 2 weeks in the jar. I tried a sample... First hit was instaneous. By the 4th hit, I was really high. So it seems the buzz needed a little time to mature and catch up with the great smells and tastes.

I am really happy.

The other Gelato x Ecto Cooler I had in this batch is just now being prepped for harvest. As you see, it took several weeks longer than the tall, lanky pheno to finish.

Skunky VA on a drizzly morning. I am going to cut a few buds this morning, can’t resist any longer, thought I would share the pic first.

Shorter & wider than the Granny Skunk crosses, buds are fat, it will be a good yield.

For a late planting it will finish much earlier than expected.

Patience is a virtue... Those look way too immature to start cutting buds off of it.

I wasn’t trying to harvest yet but there were buds that I needed to cut, several with worm damage & the biggest, densest couple colas were getting mold spots. I salvaged a sample working around the damage. Super sticky & I look forward to my first taste but much better when cured for a bit. Now she is not as photogenic as she was but the damage needed to be removed.

She still will finish early for a June plant here, guessing no more than 2 weeks left, leaves are yellowing, amber trichomes starting to show. With shortening days outdoors she will ripen quick.

Hey brother,
You may be shooting yourself in the foot financially, but rest assured, with the genetics you are making available at the current price point, you are a modern day super hero to small personal growers like myself who just cant keep blowing cash on genetics.
A buddy just ordered your gear and is over the moon with a pack of 13 beans with a freebie of another 10 seeds from you. Then add the freebie from glg. Thats like 30 beans of some damn GOOD genetics for around 50$.

Couldn't agree with you more.
Especially because he has already shown in this thread, how much more effort, thought, and knowledge is being put into it compared to far too many charging much more.
Schwaggy P + GLG = crazy goods that are affordable :weed::eyesmoke:

Cheers :)

here are some gelato 45 x ecto cooler nugs after being in a jar for a while, and my report on them

smell+taste- strong orange rind, faint sharpie, very faint citrusy cleaning product. while it was still on the plant/freshly cut down, the sharpie was the dominant smell. now its mostly freshly peeled orange rind. its pretty pungent too, i wouldnt carry it around unfriendly territory in a ziplock. it tastes just like it smells, smoked or vaped.
effects- sedative, relaxing (mentally and physically), anxiolytic, very nice body buzz. also manages to give me the munchies, which is uncommon for me these days.
yield- more than her sisters. i dont remember exactly and cant find it in my notes. i do remember it just about filled a half gallon mason jar
my opinion- i really like this pheno, and so does everyone whos tried it. multiple people have asked, without being in communication with one another, when the "orange rind bud" is coming back around. "asap" is my response. this cut has become one of my favorites out of my current lineup. now, i tend to like more narcotic strains in general. but this one stands out to me, even in a cupboard full of heavy indicas, because i dont lose efficiency or productivity from it. but at the same time, when i retire for the day and smoke one of these, it can melt me into the couch. this one is definitely a keeper. the test run was done in a tent with minimal climate control, and now shes going to move on to a much nicer environment. im excited to see how she does, and im looking forward to having enough material to make some hash and rosin out of her too.
@Schwaggy P you nailed it on this one. thanks for putting these out there

Thanks for that! Stories like this are why the price is what it is.

Awesome! So glad you liked it. Looking forward to how she turns out in the better setup.

Update on the test run of the Strawberry Cough and Durban-Thai ladies. The DTHF is displaying the structure one might expect with elongated (but sturdy) internodes, large fans, and eager branching. They are giving me Chocolate Thai flashbacks. These are not giving the crazy stretch that the Chocolate Thai did (thankfully), so I'm very pleased to get the oldschool sativa goodness in a more cooperative frame.

I like to run the females of a pack to help in the male selection (if possible), to give me a better idea of which phenos give the "best" expression. For example, if I find that the females with the very narrow leaves seem to produce the more desirable plants, then the males with the narrow leaves may be the better choice for breeding. Admittedly, this is not a guarantee as phenos are not always uniform; but given that you have nothing to go by when you first pop a pack, it can give you solid information by which to select a male.

I usually keep the best male of each clear pheno from a population, so that when the results of the first run of females is done, I have the best representative of each respective pheno with which to move forward. There is also the added benefit of having a backup male of the genetic line in the event something goes wrong with your initial selection (loss to flowering in veg, cloning mishap, some terrible trait only discovered later, etc.).

The Strawberry Cough (Kyle Kushman cut) is really showing off the Haze in her genes. Her flower set is clearly a slower start compared to her more hybrid table mates and the leaf blades have me excited. The image in my head of what I want these Strawberry Highflyers to look like are right in line with the thin blades she's expressing.

The Super Silver Haze clones that were recently cut are still rooting, so she'll be getting her chance at flowering soon. I have a few "fruity" cuts that will most likely get the DTHF pollen for a series of Fruit Highflyers.
