Low 60s at plant’s night (which is largely during the actual day) but it takes a while to cool down to that point. I’ll probably be using the leds again at least for veg next run when it’s less cold.

Actually, I feel the urge to pop more seeds already. Probably more PF-1 and the Panama x SH again, make some seeds. Might feel different tomorrow when I go through seed collection…

Right, but this isn’t just an indica, it’s a landrace indica that hasn’t been optimized as much. Fun breeding material for some traits (color and taste) but yield and effect is just a fraction of what other popular indicas can produce.

This SH x red PCK is very different from the small pck-leaning one. Buds still like pck, leaves and frost from silver haze

Smells great but like the other pck offspring not much on it. Lower buds:

It’s going to be mostly CHxCH (cannalope haze) and a few Wineballs (traditional dutch candy) F2, which isn’t SH x red PCK but pink pck x SH which produces better.

Thanks for the info! It echoes a lot that I've read over at i c m a g about working with hazes. I've read you have to go 11/13, and sometimes they flat refuse to finish indoors. Amazing plants though for sure. Haze is kind of the pinnacle of cannibas in my eyes because of the effects, and the breeding potential. One day perhaps...

For now I'm focusing my efforts on mom hunting. I've got a very capable grow m8 who does it for yield/quality. I'm just trying to put my eyeballs on as many as I can. I'll probably first dabble in chucking with the puck bx. Got lots of old school indicas/afghanis to cross it with
Puck Bx? Huh

Great crystallization but not much of a producer. Should make some great smoke!
It’s good, and rather unique, but not good enough to justify the space. I used several different pck plants, different colors, male and female, and still had to test this one regardless. So far it looks like using PCK for the female parent is better for yield than using males but too little data to really determine that.

Panama x SH, this one still going strong

This one‘s closer to the end, better more swollen structure too

Popped CHxCH (cannalope haze, male parent is same quad whorled I used for P-F1) for next run, pretty much c99 grapefruit

Still pop as easily as 8-9 years ago. This one is in a rush…

Panama x sh looks amazing, love the tight node structure , please send me some! lol. The c99 grapefruit should be killer can’t wait to see how it goes. How do you store seeds? I used to keep all seeds refridgerrated but my germination rate after just 4 years was like 3 out of 10 some packs of ten never popped at all. Now I just keep them in a cool dark closet all seeds are in bags with a silica packet, hope my germination rates improve.

I keep them in the refrigerator, seeds in ziploc bags, bags in airtight containers.

I used to pop seeds by throwing them in a thermo cup with warm water, touching a t8 tube to keep it warm. Wouldn’t do that with 6 seeds at 100 bucks but most pop in 24-48 hours. This time and last time I used the only spot in the house that’s warm 24/7, top of my wifi router. Saucer stacked upside down on another one, warm wet tissue in between. Not a recommendation, I’m just being sloppy cause I have plenty of these, usually end up breaking a couple too. When I created the CHxCH I didn’t realize how many seeds a few colas can produce. This way I can pick the ones that clearly germinate most easy in case I end up using any for new seeds, plus I don’t have 1-5 days or so variation in seedlings.

Wine balls:

So… I normally avoid naming crosses other than by their parents, but this time, having set out to create a red/pink variety I did. Which I shouldn’t have. Cause now I’m not sure what it is. It’s either pink pck x sh (produces better than the sh x red pck), or, sensi hindu kush x pck. Will have to read older posts. I remember making the latter cause I wanted to beef up the pck by using a basic kush rather than a modern hybrid. Regardless, only one way to find out, just want 1-3 females.

few years younger seeds, only 6 out of 10 popped so far but that’s enough. These two look eager…

I got some Panama x SH, bx1, just a dozen or so, from a previous run (~6 years ago), which I‘ll grow later this year. Should have far less variation than panama x sh.

Popped new ones, CHxCH, couple of wineballs (pck x sh), while not all of the panama x sh are done yet.

Another panama x sh… it’s big and it’s cheesy. The calyxes that is.
DDEA6B4A-EE8F-4A08-9033-07489CB7FEA0.jpeg

Messy run between the cold temps and crappy nutes in veg. P finished early, most of the pan x sh taking 10 weeks. Definitely worth it though. Rare to have the main traits mix so cleanly. Some Panama x SH look and smell like Panama, some look like panama but smell more like SH (incense/perfumed haze), and the one that needs another week is almost entirely SH by look and smell.

I don’t have a whole lot of pan x sh left, but also got 6 (yes only 6) pan x SH bx1, as in a backcross. Going to make a load of seeds with them later this year, and then finally cross it into P.

Plenty of red on this one already:

Typical pck leaves for now. Got only a couple of these to check.

CHxCH going to include a few freaky ones, offspring of the quad whorled male.

How’s everything looking? Haven’t heard anything lately. I’m just putting down a few seeds in the next few weeks to start indoors, this will be my first attempt in 20+ years growing outside, fingers crossed all goes well and they finish before a frost. I can’t put anything outdoors till June 10 or later as we have cold temps at night here in the U.P. Of michigan

Hey thanks for checking up. Things are going well, steady even though night temps could be better still. Running leds at only 120watt of max 330 except for 3-4 hours halfway daytime.

Picture of about a week ago, 13 x CH, 3 x wineballs (top-right)
FC9D8710-B69C-45DC-A5FC-3F19C02E71C3.jpeg

Topped them shortly after, with the downside it will take longer to have enough nodes again to get pre-flowers to zoom in on. So don’t know which are male/female yet. Once I do I’m going to manage them a bit more, probably mostly pinch ’n bend them into a field, maybe pull a few wires to attach them too.

I’d love to grow outdoor again, just don’t have the space I could do it legally or undetected. What variety are you going to plant?

Everything is looking good, what is in your medium? Love how you use the jugs as pots with a nice handle to tie off if needed. I used to use the old metal coffe tins and drill holes for drainage and at the top for wires. Anyways I have 1 or 2 jack lamota auto seeds I’ll plant in June, but now I’m leaning twords cheery bomb or top 44 to sprout only cause my bloom time outdoors here is short before frost and I don’t have blackouts on my garden. I’m just growing under the radar no greenhouse just gonna bend to keep from being seen over the fence, I’ve also got tomatoes, green peppers, peas, cucumbers and corn.

I got a whole collection of different hempy buckets/containers. The worst are rectangle containers about 6” inch tall but much wider and longer. Wanted to try wide instead of tall containers but that wasn’t a good idea. I’d use larger containers if I’d grow from clones or fem seed. Regular buckets work well but also means more perlite and nutes than I need to get a full house. Cheap stuff but I like to waste little. I saved the jugs from previous runs too, when they dry out I can pull it out and shake off much of the perlite, which I’ll reuse in a soil grow some day. There’s a layer of clay pebbles on top and most got some at the bottom too. Keeps the algae grow down a little and helps preventing drain hole from getting blocked with perlite. Just a habit after I had some left over after the hydro grows with net pots.

Sounds like you have a similar outdoor flower period as we got in NL, though usually I could plant outside in May, the problem is september and october where it gets rainy and/or cold. I honestly don’t know what people grow outdoors nowadays here, many of the modern hybrids aren’t very suitable. In the old days afghani, hindu kush, purple#1, skunk, especially skunk when not everyone knew yet what cannabis plants smell like. Nowadays people get scratch cards in the mail so they can learn how cannabis and even xtc labs smell like so they can snitch. Anyway, top44 seems like a reliable choice in any case, not the strongest stuff but can be good daytime smoke.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, preflowers after 5th node is pretty consistent, topped most just above it and that plan worked out, still get to sex them early:

Same plant as last pic in previous post, pistils a little out of focus but definitely female
D1D2E2F3-DC7B-49D6-A7C8-7824DE09A028.jpeg

Found two more females, and one male. Not the best angle and pic but the erect stalks the balls got makes it obvious with naked eye.

B85E3E09-A541-44D1-A6F6-8FFAEE64D94A.jpeg

Keeping ‘m all for now, don’t need their space yet and will collect pollen from at least one.

Aside from different leaves and structure I can recognize the 3 wineballs by the reddish color on new leaves too, fairly confident it’ll produce red or at least pink bud like its parents. If all males I’ll chuck on CH.

Will be switching to 12/12 in a few days.
