This won’t really be a full on journal but i will update as i can. I’m too busy and too lazy to do a day by day type thing. Anyhow, this run i’m doing Sam OG by Mephisto. I haven’t done an auto grow in a bit and really wanted to run some Memphisto gear.
This is an all organic run. I’m in 5 gallon fabric pots. Soil is promix HP ammended w dry nutes by doctor earth, dolomite lime, EWC extra perlite as well as 10 nightcrawlers per pot. Watering w plain jane tap water ( no ph’ing ) occasional teas w Recharge and EWC. Very simple setup.
I’m running under two TS1000’s, two 6” fans and a 6” charcoal exhaust filter. Need to run heat at the present, which keeps my tent at 82 degrees as well as a dehumidifier, which keeps me steady now at 70% humidity. Again, real simple setup. Here are my girls now at 20 days. They just got topped at their 5th node. The last time i ran autos,i said i’d never top again. Then i read Sam can get stretchy, so i decided to top them to try to keep a manageable, even canopy. Will update this when i can. Cheers

Got in the tent today for a feed and some LST. Chugging along. This thread is open to anyone to comment in any way they’d like. Really liking the structure of these plants and will start pushing them in the feed department from here till the end. Cheers

Thanks, to be honest i haven’t even ran any autos in a while. I go back and forth on the topping game w autos. This time i topped. Two plants never missed a beat and one slowed down a bit. I suspect these will double in height during stretch and if that turns out to be the case, i’ll be glad i topped as i have limited height in my tent. Time will tell

My ladies chugging along ever so slowly. Was starting to see two different deficiencies pop up, so i have adjusted accordingly. Closest plant has pre flowers and is starting to stack. Plant left in the rear, is a mutant. It threw 4 branches when i topped it. There are a lot of bud sites but has not stretched it’s legs much. The plant in the right rear is traveling north bound more than all the others. It’s showing sex but has yet to start pre flowering. Always interesting growing a new cultivar. Will be interesting to see how much these plants will stretch from here on out. Happy weekend, cheers

Finally a day off and some free time. I’m at day 36 and things are going well for the most part. These ladies are all pre flowering now and are all starting to stack. And stretch. Contrary to what i had read about Sam, these girls are heavy feeders. They are eating everything i am throwing at them. Had a bit of a N deficiency showing and have adjusted feed accordingly. Pretty much on cruise control now. Oh, if i did it over, i would not have topped these ladies. Always growing pains w a new cultivar. Cheers

Finally getting back around to this. These girls are at 60 days now. I can certainly tell i will be a bit bummed in the yield dept. in hindsight, i would not have topped these girls as it certainly stalled out two of them. The largest plant is easily two weeks behind the others and looks as though it will yield decent. It’s still stacking up. About a week ago i had to start running my charcoal filter and let me tell you it cant’t keep up ! These girls flat out REEK ! The scent is sophisticated but sublime, so i’m happy about that. I probably won’t update this again until i’m harvested and cured out and can provide a smoke report. One thing is certain, if you plan to grow Sam be prepared for odor issues, there is no masking whats going on inside my tent. Happy memorial weekend peeps. Cheers
