Being a new member here, I wanted to start a journal for myself and others to follow along. It's always nice to teach others or even learn a thing here and there. I am currently heading into week 3 of flower on my current plants with new seeds being dropped in a couple weeks. Now that I got my introduction out, let me allow myself to give some information on my grow.

Seedlings and Veg: I currently use a 2x4 tent to start my seedlings off. I start off in a basic Solo cup and transplant around week 2 to 3 gallon fabric pots. Inside I have a Mars-Hydro TSL 2000 and I tend to keep 8 plants total in this stage. While in veg, I usually give 4-8 weeks of growth time before putting into flower. I usually judge by size and where I am with training on each individual plant. My medium of choice is soil, so I tend to stick with what I know most. Fox Farm Ocean Forest is my go to brand of soil. I have a 6inch exhaust fan as my intake with one oscillating fan on the inside. My preferred style of training is topping with LST being applied afterwards. Lighting hours are 20-4 for the first couple weeks then 18-6 for the rest of veg. Ideal temps in this stage are as follows: 80-85f lights on with 50-60% humidity and as close to 75f with 40-50% humidity with lights off.

Flowering: Once I have reached this stage, I then move the biggest of the bunch into my 4x4 tent and keep the rest in the 2x4. Lights get flipped to 12/12 at this point. Lights being used at this stage in the 4x4 is one Mars-Hydro TSL 2000, one Mars-Hydro TS 1000 and one Viparspectra 450w LED unit. When I start reaching to the last 2 weeks of flower, I then move my lights to 10/14 instead of 12/12. I also use another 6inch duct fan along with 2 oscillating fans on the inside. My ideal temps in this stage are 75-80f lights on with humidity being as low as I can get it. Lights off I tend to drop around the 70-75f range with humidity staying as low as possible.

Now that I got the grow areas out, I'd like to provide more details on my grow and any current plans I have with the grow. Since I use Fox Farm soil, I also choose their line of nutrients as well. I have used these in all my grows so far without any problems. The trio works best for me when I follow the feeding chart exactly. Once in a while, I may find a strain that prefers a little more or less but unless I see visual signs, I don't change a thing. Luckily, I've never " loved a plant to death'. I have quite the time on my hands so I'll be uploading pictures often and anything I do in the grow will be documented in my journal. Please at any time feel free to follow along, post any tips, ask any questions or anything along the lines. I'm glad to be apart of the forum and look forward to growing along side everyone else.

I saved the best for last and that would be the plants themselves. I currently have 8 different strains in flower and everything so far has come along nicely. Starting in the back row and on the left ( Blue Dream, Critical Purple Kush, Alaskan Purple Kush and White Widow ) Front row starting from the left ( Blue Cookies, Girl Scout Cookies, Bubba Kush and Bubblicious ). Plants are in a 3 gallon fabric pot.

Beautiful plants and great strain choices!!! Awesome write up as well, I will be following along. Liking your style already, toppings and canopy look great! Which breeders are you using?
Thank you for stopping in. Right now the only places I order seeds from is Seedsman and New420Guyseeds. Ill have to look and see who actually breed them though. Previously, I liked using Nirvana but I wanted to see what else was out there in the world. I tend to also apply different methods of training but topping and LST was the best way for me to go with this grow. I've noticed most people's problems occur because they try to do too much with the plant. I call it loving them to death.

I'm slowly working my way to being able to like people's comments and such.

A little more information on my grow. I do not run any filters of any kind as luckily I live far away from the next house. Were in the country basically. My lights kick on 5am and turn off at 5pm. I don't have any of vents running to the outside or the outside coming inside. I have a small air conditioner in my window I have dialed in to kick on or off depending on the room temp. Then my fans in the tent pull the air from the room into the tent. Basically an iron lung. I have looked into adding a Co2 bag in future grows. Airs never been a problem though really. I can say though, I did become dependant on the fan sounds to be able to sleep at night. ( Grow tents are in my bedroom )

Out of curiousity, does anyone use the C02 bags that can often be found inside of tents? I am curious to know if the bag made any differences in the grow. I personally great airflow so I am not too sure if I even need it.

Germination Method: While there are about a million different ways to germinate seeds, I wanted to share how I start mine off. When I first started growing, I followed other's grows instead of following what my plants are telling me. So instead of really learning what was going on, I was just winging it. The method I first started with was the drop in water until they sink, then put them into a paper bag with a papertowel etc. I always seemed to loose a couple in the process. My thought was bad seeds....little did I know, I was drowning them. I ordered seeds from a bank and when they arrived inside was a paper explaining how to germinate with better success. BINGO! I peronally use this method and have used it with great success on a few grows now. Since using this method, I have gone 32-33. Before that, I needed to germinate 3 seeds to get 1 plant. Bummer right? With that being said, here's what I do now. I get a shot glass, standard size I believe is 30cc or 1 fl oz. Anyways, fill the glass up 2/3 water and the rest 3% hydrogen peroxide. The trick is to keep the seed " ON TOP OF THE WATER " . After a few days, you'll see the root and you'll be good to go. If by some chance it does sink, then dump the glass into a paper towel then use the bag method. The peroxide helps keep the seed afloat though. Also, I notice when people use the bag method, they don't put it somewhere dark and warm. Warmth is a major factor in a successful germination process.

I'm looking forward to seeing how your White Widow and Alaskan Purple turn out. I'll be growing those two as well very soon. When I do i'll start a journal, and i'll be watching and looking for any tips on those strains you may have, especially since we could end up having seed from the same stock.

Thanks for stopping in. Like I said, the Alaskan started off slow but she's booming now. I have a couple seeds of the widow and Alaskan left too. Ill follow yours along when you get it going.

Your previous grows look awesome, nice work! What strain is that thick beauty and was it the plant on the right in the trio picture? I like your plant management, giving me some ideas :)

When I first started I had my tent in my room and honestly I came around to it quickly. It’s if it kicks on and off that it gets a bit annoying, but the constant hum is soothing. Now I have a fan in my room.

If your room is completely sealed and you feel the whole room could handle the increased CO2 then it is possible to dose the whole room, though probably not advised. I’ve been considering options for CO2 in the further future and a plastic sealed room with an airlock sounds dope haha!

She was my Jack Herer. I got the seeds from Dutch Seeds. Took about a month to get them, but the wait was worth it. I legit run an air conditioner 24/7 in that room. Grow are a little tricky because I get 2 seasons....Insanely hot & humid and cold & snowy even though we have 4. I didn't think I needed it but I was just seeing if it " really would make a difference in my grow ". I seem to be doing fine and I am happy with my medicine. The light hours go on and off when we aren't really here so it's not too bad with that. I love the sounds of the fans though. The last month or so I have been working on my attic to move my grow up there. Since I am the only one working on it, I take my time doing little here and there. Now I just sit back and grow various strains so I can find what works best for me. I'm basically pheno hunting.
