I gave the thread a quick browse. Nice job for the first round. It will only get better from here.
If you don't have any trimming help you are going to be very busy! If I had one suggestion it would be to let the trichs really cloud up. The 4th pic in post #431 is looking really good. :bigjoint:

So the Gorilla Glue yielded 519g dry from 5 plants, and humidity hasn't moved from 55% in the 4 days since going into their cure box.

I tried the old trick of adding a lettuce leaf between a napkin to bring up the moisture but it didn't really do anything. The smell is good so i'm not going to fuss with it anymore.

I tried a little nug and its VERY heavy stoney with a sativa-leaning racy buzz. Too strong for my taste, but i'm a wimp so what do I know?

Due to having hermie issues and the fairly poor yield I have tossed all other clones of the Gorilla Glue. They were bagseed so nothing lost really. I consider it a bonus, and gives me chance to focus on my $ strains.

IMG_3305 2_1.jpg

The 24K proved to be much more successful, at just shy of 500g from 2 plants (I lost 3 as males early on so table was sparse).

Here it is getting ready to be boned:

IMG_3352_1.jpg

Impressive nun density, tight flowers with nice colors. Not as frosty as the GG but great scent of Squirt soda and hopefully got some flavor too.

IMG_3357_1.jpg

This also dried in 4 days after a wet trim and went into its curing box today.

Monitoring interior humidity and temps with this neat little Amazon thermometer stuck to the inside. Will check tomorrow for the first idea of starting humidity, and very much hoping its better than the GG.

IMG_3359_1.jpg

With the drying process happening too quickly for my liking I am opting for a dry trim the next two tables, and the Black Jack was chopped this afternoon.

Whole branches are hanging, with only fan leaves removed.

I have 4 plants under here, and an extra one getting a couple extra days in the sun.

Its pretty packed in and I will have to keep an eye out for humidity spikes, wet spots, mold etc.

IMG_3367_1.jpg

Two small fans keep the air moving, temps at 74F and humidity low 60's, so it ought to work better than the dry trim has so far.

IMG_3370_1.jpg

In the background you can also see the boxes of Gorilla Glue and 24K, and their respective piles of kief drying for a couple days. The paper bag has some random popcorn.

The next run of Larry OG and Black Jack have been flipped into flower.

I didn't do the best training job in veg as I crammed too many into my space and they missed out on some much needed attention. They are pretty leggy so I hit them with a heavy pruning and will train under scrog throughout flower.

All side branching has been removed and going with four main tops.

I'm also trying out some basic 3gal pots instead of fabric pots for this run as the smart pots are an absolutely bastard to clean of old roots after a chop.

I ran some holes into the sides for aeration using a soldering iron.

IMG_3294 2_1.jpg

Quick shoutout to the peeps at Mammoth P for throwing me this generous sample. I hear good things about this stuff. Going to run it alongside my other bennies and see whats up.

Stinks like witches piss though.

There's enough here for me to be doing half of each strain table as a side-by-side.

FullSizeRender 17_1.jpg

Next week when i've yielded from the Black Jack and Larry OG that will conclude this first run in my shed, and so it'll also be the end of this thread.

I just wanted to say a big thank you for anyone who has followed along or read at any point, its been a mad wild trip and a treat having you!

Extra gooey props to @ttystikk and @Wisher2 for their constant support and advice. If i've come along in this game then its probably because of them.

That was weird. Anyway, I'm enjoying watching you grow. Your attention to detail is inspiring!
I second that
looks really great
I believe this next run will be even better than the last

hey about that glue
what was the smell like?

my moms friend from PNW sent me some seeds of supposedly glue.....the dude has a legit farm up in WA
the seeds and plants were really slow to grow and it was really stalky and bushy and smelled of garlic and onion??

I have been working with Landrace Affies for a few years besides the gsc cut I have

so I havnt messed with any of these new cut going around

anyways the glue showed both sexes so I put them outside.....where they just produced fem only but still had the premale chillin so I half flowered them and then tossed after I saw the bud structure

back to the question
what is the smell and taste?

I have trouble describing it. Chem, plastic, not sweet or fruity or citrus.

Yeah, I would agree. Its unusually chem/fuel, to me at least, although i'm no aficionado of its parents (a diesel and a chem, I think). But definitely not garlic!

I'm much more into sweet and fruity aromas; this 24K has it (Kosher x Tangie), and the Black Jack (Black Domina x J Herer) DEFINITELY has it, and i'm hoping I can hold on to its flavor and stickiness by going with a full hang + dry trim. Likewise with the Larry which I don't have room to cut for another week.

Wet trimming definitely dried the GG and the 24K way too fast and now i'm trying to reintroduce moisture, which may or may not have f*cked the cure.

Anyways, about the GG... this particular bunch I had was bagseed that showed a lot of promise in veg - huge shiny fan leaves sporting the typical kink / curl that it is known for, giving me confidence it was genuine GG4.

After hermie issues in flower and poor bud structure I decided to cut it. I got this lb of GG for fun and now I can concentrate on improving my money strains.

yeah I like fruity and sweet as well

yeah I dont really know what I got then

he only grows Glue and Albert Walker

as for you cure

dont worry if the plant seems to dry

dont introduce any kind of moisture

just seal the buds up and keep watch

if it stays at 55 that is perfectly acceptable

should smoke clean and be easy on grinding

I have cured in the 62 range like "Supposedly" is the sweet spot

the herb to me is to spongy and hard to light and grind
55 to me is perfect
but that is just my personal opinion

and the little bit of moisture will eventually reconstitute out toward the outer portion and be fine in a week or 2

Well that's good to hear... but even if it smells like hay in the box? First day of cure for the 24K and whilst the buds are impressive the smell really isn't there.

"Perhaps a higher RH at low temps is comparable to lower RH at higher temps and is therefore nothing to worry about"

Wrong. AKA. Prime conditions for mold and fungus

Two thumbs up! This is EXACTLY correct. Yet private and commercial operations everywhere insist on dropping nighttime temps, risking exactly such problems.

They don't know what they're missing out on.
