actually no we were lucky this time,
one man dies every week.
i have lady luck on my side, i lost 4 fingers on my left hand and part of my foot trying to free a man trapped in a cage elevator.
he survived with minor injuries but i payed a high price. my fingers were crushed beyond repair and the rear heel area of my boot was torn right off from the ankle to the bridge and that part of my foot went with it.
i was off work for 5 months. and had 6 operations on my foot to reconstruct it.
could have been worse it skiffed my head and tore a small piece from my scalp about 2" x 3".
but i get on with it. i could have retired on medical grounds but i love my job.
and i still have a toke once a week.
