Thanks for the link, great read. I no longer do RSO or etoh extraction but it's great to know this method is not only cheaper but has less undesirables as well.

2 things. Unless you spend the money to purge 100% of iso from the oil, this is dangerous. No if's and's or but's. It just is not for human/animal consumption. 2nd, grinding buds destroys the plants membrane and causes way too much olant matter(reason why so many people prefer qwiso/golden dragon over green planty tinctures). Everyone want s to make their "stamp" and add/change a step out of proven ways to say they made something, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Thank you Matty for the post. On November 1st, RSO 2.0 2022 was published with an amazing discovery to help cleanup the oil. I call it 'Brine Isopropyl Degumming'. You literally can shake the trash out of your oil, videos provided. I have one video of a fast run which will show you all the basics. This past March, I updated the process to refine RSO. This oil is so clean you can vape it. Given it's a much better product than RSO, I'm calling it 'Refined Cannabis Extract', aka RxCE. This update is a simple hack in making RSO that results in near distillate quality oil in very little time. If you make RSO, then you can easily make RxCE .

Here's the updated video where I take 2oz of cured hemp and make winterized decarbed oil in under 2 hours. Way too much equipment to bother when 190 EC washes are so easy, fast, nothing much needed or to clean. It's good that you found something that works for you though.

I did the first step of the wash. I will do the remaining steps later in the week.

I decarbed in oven and after I did the wash (with milkbag) I had some slug. Is this ok?

yep, thats just trichome shells. You can toss that out. Make sure you follow the video. There is a Quick Start Guide to walk you through the video. Go to the RxCE page, at the bottom next to the demo video is a link to the Quick Start Guide.

Not true. This takes the same kitchen equipment or comparable gear used in making RSO. This is a simple change to RSO that takes the oil to near Distillate quality. You can vape this oil, not RSO/FECO. This is a huge jump in quality oil only using kitchen gear - mason jars, quart pot, hotplate, paper filters hot and cold water. No lab gear, no vacuump chambers or vacuum pumps, just whats in the kitchen. If you can make RSO, you can easily make Refined Cannabis Extract, aka RxCE.

I don't use nearly what you have in your picture. Sorry though.

Glad you're happy with your setup. Are you refining the oil or just boiling out the alcohol? Are you winterizing? RSO/FECO is known as a crude oil with no refinements. Its so crude it cannot be vaped. Straight RSO Lab test results typically show 30-40% total cannabinoids.

With this simple 'hack' using the same gear to make RSO, lab test results show total cannabinoids at 79%. Winterization alone takes 12-24 hours for a QWET/QWISO cold wash. This new process enables a Rapid Winterization that can be done in an hour. So literally, you can go from plant to final vapable decarbed winterized oil in under 2 hours. RSO/FECO cant touch this..

Edit: Remember, its not the kitchen gear you're ingesting. Its all about the final oil.

I am curious, does the RxCE method help reduce mold content from the final oil?

um, I dont know? The only thing added is distilling with pure water, so there's a good chance most of the mold could be flushed when dumping the water, but that would leave traces in the oil. Best answer now is I would not count on it.
