round two. my second grow.

so my first plants are going to be harvested on friday, giving me a bit of time to re organize my grow space. I'm going to add a few more lights and basically just clean everything up. I have wires everywhere at the moment and I think with some zip tie action I can make it better.

so as of right now I have 5 plants that have been vegging in my back yard for 4 weeks. I topped one, and have been LST'ing the shit out of the other 4. once again it's just bagseed, but this time my soil is 80% FFOF and 20% perlite. I have them in probably 1.5gal pots right now until they show sex. if all goes as hoped for I'll have at least 2 females again, which I'll re-pot into 3gal pots and continue LST'ing. I have the FF trio on its way via the mail, should be here today. so I've improved my technique, soil, pots, lights and nutes this go round, so even if it's still bagseed it should turn out 100% better than my first try.

havent taken any pics of the new crop yet, I will next time I get a chance.

FFOF is too hot IME go with Happy Frog and there is no need to add more perlite there is plenty in there already but to each his own. I would go 5 gallon pots unless you are keeping them small. Going from poutside to inside is a no no in my book, you risk bringing in unwanted pests to your indoor area. I would also add a calmg if using RO water which you hopefully are as well as potash, swell (from Cyco) and a good sweet like Original Berry.

Update: well I have re done my grow area and moved the 4 that I LST'd into the closet. Took some pics.

@ Intenseneal: thanks for the info I'll skip the perlite when re-potting. Maybe I'll try to find happy frog, not sure if the local hydro shop has it. And Im not sure I have the height for 5gal pots without more modifications... Maybe. Also on bringing them inside from outside, I would've been vegging indoor too but I just don't have the money for another setup for veg at the moment, I'll just be keeping a careful eye on them.

Since moving indoors things are looking good. They have all shown much growth since the switch to 12/12 and I'm hopeful to see a good harvest this time. I had a few buggers, I squished them, haven't seen anything else yet.

I do have a question, anyone using the ff trio, you use big bloom and tiger bloom together right? Both the same day or alternating?

Photo update: and then there were 2. One finally sprouted some pistils yesterday, the other I still don't see anything.
things are going well I think. Lots of LST has kept them very short

Also, can anyone point me to an anonymous photo upload site where your pics don't link to some porn site?

Looking good. If you saw a few bugs treat for them now! If you dont they can get out of control and mess up your harvest. I hate bug, had issues with a few grows.

As far as pots......consider using 3-5 gal smart pots. They allow better breathing for the roots and being made of fabric, are more pliable and you can make it a bit more easy to fit them in tighter spaces. Hydro stores have 'em and run $3-6.....and they're reusable.

Most places that carry Ocean Forest also carry Happy Frog. I've used both and see no noticeable difference in the plants. Happy Frog usually is a bit cheaper.

thanks guys. now I have another question.

so I've been on 12/12 now for over 2 weeks and I have one confirmed female, and one still has not shown as far as I can tell. has anyone had a plant go this long under 12/12 and still not show sex?

Is your flowering area completely light proof? In some cases their might be some light leak and they can take longer to show sex.

if everything is OK, she/he will show sex when she is ready. bongsmilie

I admit there probably is a bit of light leaking in, I can see the lights when they're on with the door closed, so I assume if light can get out, it can probably get in too.

so..... new plan. I decided yesterday that my girl(s?) are too small. I have a lot of head room for them still. so I changed a few bulbs out and set the light schedule back to 18/6. we'll see how that works.

FACK! re potted the definite female into a 3gal pot last night.... pain in the ass cutting all my LST string, now I'll have to re-do all that... broke TWO bulbs when I went to raise the light. god damnit!

everything moving very slow since switching back to veg, hopefully she starts growing again soon.

looking good, let us know how the change back to 18/6 goes as i've also got a couple of young girls on 12/12 and might change back if circumstances allow

I think you were not seeing sex was because even if you start a plant on 12/12 lighting it will still take a month or so for it to show preflowers.

If you broke a CFL or any type of florescent bulb you just mercury poisoned you plants and fucked your grow up. Sorry to say that if any of the bulb got on or near the plants when it broke you need to start over after doing a major clean up. Mercury is nothing to play arond with.

meh, I guess we'll see what happens. if they die they die. I'll just be starting my first good run earlier than expected.
