Absolutely love that you played the lyrics version of this, smoking a j of "Meshmicon" <vbseg> by the dumpster of Morrison's Cafeteria in Louisville Kentucky, just got my drivers liscense in 71.

... there is nothing like music or smell to transport you back in the Wayback Machine. :peace:

Eight and a half minutes long. Unheard of at the time. I'm just a tad older than you, though you're ahead of me with cannabis.

Those who have lived as long as us know the fucking shit we've had put up with... Millennials and Gen X will never understand, and that's okay, we didn't understand what the Greatest Generation went through, and unlike us, they did it in fucking silence.

Us Boomers lined up for fucking _hours_ just to fill up our cars with gas, so we could get to _work_, while worrying if we were going to get drafted and killed in fucking Vietnam.

And we have so _fucked_ things up!

Anyway... you, Ininji, SG, and the Blue Guy (my memory is so fucked these days, don't have the time / patience to search what I've previously posted to make sure the nym's correct. :-)) who posted Junior Brown with the Beach Boys doing 409 in The Country That Doesn't Suck thread, you are fucking awesome and have been around this forum for many years, I respect that. As I posted several times before here (at least I remember posting about the nyn) BG... or whoever the nym is, is my fucking hero on this forum for posting that and jogging my rapidly diminishing memory. And for making me smile more than I ever thought possible for old fuck like me.

My oldest brother put a Super Cobra Jet 427 engine in a 65 2+2 Mustang, it beat the shit out of a Chevy 409 down in Bowling Green at Beech Bend... anyday.

Massive :-)

What I post about Kentucky and what it was like in the '60s and '70s is fucking real, not some Internet investigated, imaginary bullshit made up to make me look impressive and to generate likes and smiley faces because of all the seed recommendations/"breeders" I recommend.

I don't care what anyone thinks about me, I am most assuredly not:

For Boomers, By Boomers.

My first record. My older brother gave it to me for my birthday. It set me to collecting. Thanks, Dan.

For us younger brothers, weren't older brothers fucking awesome! The original I remember hearing on AM transistor radio on WAKY in Louisville, KY:

In So. Cal. it was surf and car music, just before The Beatles landed. He took me surfing when I was 9. Wouldn't take shit from the others complaining about the little kid coming, either.

OMFG, I could tell your stories about surfers and I'm a stocky/husky boy from Kentucky. o_O

From the About section of the website:

"Because of my association and friendship with those who did import, I had access to some of the best quality, non-compressed, rapidly transported cannabis available in Miami during the late 60’s and 70’s. I introduced a couple of Italians and a Jewish guy to some surfers, who knew the Cubans, who brought it in for the Coptics and a very friendly relationship developed. They kept Bayside and Howard Beach supplied for quite a while and appreciated the intros, so anytime I needed to score, it was quite easy...

... visited Sebastian Inlet with them one time when they were just surfing and met some very interesting people. One guy said he moved a lot of the Coptic’s stuff up in Gainesville, called it Gainesville Green. Said he used to run PBR's in The Delta, I thought he was talking about Pabst Blue Ribbon beer. I had no idea what that meant until I saw Apocalypse Now many years later. I remember him taking a big hit, exhaling, and saying, “Thai sticks ain’t got shit on this”.

I believed him."

Without surfers on both the east and west coast of America, we would not have near the cannabis supply we have now... not to mention two five via John Griggs and The Brotherhood of Eternal Love. massive fucking :-)

A lot of language came from the surf culture, too, especially Hawaii. "Brah" is one that still survives. Shaka Brah. A hand gesture, as well. Hang loose.

For those who are not familiar with the surfer John Griggs, if you smoked hash in the '60s or early '70s, or did two five that really was Orange Sunshine, you should bow down and say I'm not worthy, I'm not worthy to this surfer.

I'm communicating with Tim Scully to get more information about him, other than this website there's not a whole lot of reliable info about him that's not like the typical '60s Boomer bullshit:

Even for a professional skeptic like me, who knows what a asshole zBear could be, this guy seems to be the real, 60's ideal... excluding his friendship with Tim Leary:

Cousin Wayne used to talk about meshmicon all the time. He said the buds would not all look the same. I never actually smoked any of it myself. (I was 10 in 1971)
