Lake Erie Michigan waters Bolles Harbor hit and miss walleyes are in small pods so you will have to hunt for them. Try to find stained water and fish up high ripsticks and DHJ's yellow bottoms are good. Water temp is 37degrees right now the spawn it happen as soon as the water temp hits 43 to 46 degrees. So the Detroit River will be good in a week or 2. Big Walleyes in Lake Erie in Oak Harbor, OH the firing cans and reefs are ok trolling is good right now. Same baits that are working in Michigan waters will work in Ohio waters.

I'll be jigging the Detroit River on Friday from Wyandott down to Trenton..........report will come Friday evening :). We're just looking for wall hangers this week, the big slobs are in the river now, but reports say few and far between but they are in now.

Just got back from my trip in Ohio. Met up with like 6 other patients down there, seemed averyone I fished next to was from Michigan and was legalso that was cool. Fishing on monda was slow but I still managed one legal. Tuesday I got 2. My buddy limited out. On Wednesday I got 3 one being a 6 lb jack. Mymbuddy got about a 9 lb female, not quite big enough fornthe wall so she got released. Of course thursday the day we leave is hot hot hot. I picked upm3 nice 4-5 lbers right away then got my fourth by 10am. My buddy also left with a limit that day. Not everyone catching but if you find a hole they are there. This is on the maumee river, all fish came on white floaters with an orange tail 1 oz weight and 4 ft leader.

First day was 42 and when we left thursday it was probably high 40s. It was up and down. You could feel it warm up and cool down standing in it. If you makemit up to the u.p. I'd be happy to take you fishing. If I have the gas money I'm thinkingnof coming down again end of the month.

You prob pass through my next of the woods on your way down. My buddies might be putting together a small pike tourney on devils lake end of the month. Nothing big, I think the last one paid out $500 for first. If they don't get that one together in time, I will post the next dates as they come if anyone is interested.

So I fished yesterday from 7am-3 with an hour break at a restaurant in Wyandotte. Lots of boats, I guess some were pre-fishing for a tournie this weekend. Fishing was slow and tapered off from there.......we had one in the boat in 30 seconds, and it was the last. Saw a few being picked up, but it was very hit or miss.

Water temp was ranging from 37.8-41, depending on whether or not you were below the Trenton water discharge or North to Wyandotte. Its still a few degrees short of triggering the feeding frenzy of the spawn, so maybe another week or two before its ready.

We jigged 3/4 oz jigs of varying colors, using live bait, finn-s plastics, and the famed Wyandotte Worm, just a brown plastic paddle worm bait. That is the killer once its on there btw..

Anyway, we'll be back on Thursday to see how its progressing. Marked lots of fish, but it was strange.......many were suspended at 8ft, so I'm not sure if they were walleyes or what, it was strange. the smallies are still in the lake, and not even close to the silver bass run, so I don't know what they were......but they weren't hungry whatever they were.

Oh yea........we marked what was most likely a sturgeon up at US Steel......it was a HUGE mark on the screen at the bottom, and it was moving, so it was a fish, and the biggest mark I've ever seen on radar. They are seen at the Fighting Island BASF property all the time, across the river from US Steel, so they are in the area.

I'm going to try blue gill fishing my lake this week, as it looks like I'm rained out of working on my exterior job, so maybe I can get a few gills. The freezer is almost empty!

Yea I take 127 all the way to the border. My aunt has a place on devils lake if it's the one downstate.
