No they are fixed where you see them. I think with the two 1000's over a 3x6 there is enough lumens to go around. Always open to your opinions though man. What do you think. Too high?(not you the lights. haha)

Thanks man Ive worked hard to get the setup dialed in. Im almost to where I like it. Just need to figure out the automated watering for the veg area. Im thinkin drip feed. timers and small pumps.
Yes Ive thought many times about maybe 6 or even just four trees in there. Would have a lot of wasted time for veg but maybe if I could get a lb or close per plant it could be well worth the wait. My feelings on that would lean toward recirculating dwc 8 gal buckets. It will happen one day after I feel really comfortable running the setup as is. Thanks for the vote of confidence dude Im hoping to get close to 2 lbs but not counting on it. Well see.

Never too high ( me that is) lol I am just curious because I keep mine pretty low. Then again I have the xxl reflectors, light spreaders, and a light mover. So I can keep them a little lower. However, I have been thimking I may be too low with my 1k's. I run about 2' and gradualy lower the spread to about 16" or until heat stress. So I am actually taking a mental survey of different methods and results. Your buds look perfect so don't thange anything.
PS I am pretty damn high, just not too high.

I use a magnum xxxl 6" with the Hortilux super blue and I find 12" to be pretty good balance, no bleaching or heat stress. At 16-18" I was getting a little too much stretch for my liking. my lights start pretty far away maybe 30". then I let my plants stretch some and they get themselves closer anyway so they end up where you see them now. I feel that they know how close they want to be and get themselves to that point and stop. as long as they arent overcrowded and fighting for light they keep from getting too tall. I also have the light spreaders and I think they are helping me get good even coverage ( might be all in my head ). Also Raiderfan I believe you also run the lumatek digi's. How long have you been keeping your bulbs for? What kind have you been using and how do you like them?

I love them, dual spectrum is sweet. I am always trying to replicate nature, so covering more of the natural spectrum is logical. They seem to have less bleaching than a pure 1000w, but don't quote me on that. Heat is about the same.
Dropped 230 with the discount at local store. They are rated to 90% brightness after 5,000 hours, so I figure I can get about 7 harvests off one before I have to replace it.

Theyre coming down this weekend! It will bee a couple days early for the pk and a couple days late for the green crack. Plus Im going camping the following weekend, so thats not an option. The trichs are mostly cloudy on the pk and all cloudy some amber on the gc.
I purchased my bulbs and went with the super hps eye hortilux for the 1000s and for the 400w over my mother. I know that hps isnt most peoples choice for the moms but Im hoping for a little more stretch with this method. My mom has no stems at all. For the two veg 400s I got the eye hortilux blue. It was a lot of money for the bulbs but very worth it for quality. The dual spectrum could happen next time. Maybe the price will fall. Im gonna try running my bulbs for a year and see if there is any sign of decline in performance. The digital ballast companies claim that it extends bulb life, and I want to know if thats the case. The guys at my hydro shop say that they are more intense so they burn them faster, but this makes sense cause that sells bulbs. Anyway I will find out. Please let me know if this has been tried and is a bad Idea!

I keep track of the hours on the bulb each cycle. Then go to eyehortilux.com, look up the pdf specs for your bulbs. Use them for 50% of their rated life bc that corresponds with 90% output (on most bulbs). So a 1000w hps would be good for roughly 12,000 hours and a 1000w super blue is only good for 5,000 hours. Well that's how I do it anyway, thought you mite wanna give it a try.

so I didnt take a whole lot of pics while choppin the girls. I was tryin to stay focused. Im giving a new method a try this round. My buddy leaves most of the leaves on the bud and only removes the big fans. He then lets the buds fully dry and gently rolls them on 1/4 inch metal screen attached to a rubbermaid tub. This takes off the rest of the shorter leaves and leaves the buds ready for curing. He said this methid works best on dense indicas, so the pk is a perfect candidate. His bud always looks well manicured so Im tryin it out. I cut my time harvesting at least in half compared to the hindu skunk. But the buds were also betterthis time and easier to work with.
I feel that I shouldve let the pk go another week for sure it looks as if it was starting to turn purple down to the bottoms of the buds and I stopped them early. They are by no means low quality though. They are packed with trichs and look fantastic just not as purp as purp can be ya know. They smell very floral and kind of berry fruity sweet if that makes any sense. uhhh scissor hash anyone?
The green crack is some fire ass shit for sure. It looks like that old school green shit from back in the day with bright ass green color and full of red hairs. It smells just as amazing as the pk but totally different. Has a more citrus alchohol smell.
Overall Im very happy with the two strains and looks to be a better yield than the hindu skunk. Both runs had problems though so I know it will get better and better.
Heres the trimming area. just starting with all the girls on the floor
and a couple bud shots none of the green crack though
I must have had a good buzz rollin from the red bull /vodkas on this one but its a great shot of the plants in the background

Outstanding man!! Congrats on the awesome harvest!! I will be watching this trimming technique, are you drying on racks or hanging. It would seem to me that you would knock off all the outer trichs when you roll them over the screen. I am watching though, because if there is an easier way to trim, I am all about it.

Im sure that some will be lost but this is also the case when you handle the bud. Maybe one more than the other? Fuck if I know. If I can save that much time and still end up with great looking product then Im good. If I try rolling And it looks like shit, then Ill have to hand trim the dried leavs and itll take more time than normal. But hey its worth a try to save that much time. I only have 9-10 hrs into my harvest including plant removal from the screen and all. Plus my wife was only with me for 4 of those. Last run we were together for 17 hrs.
Oh yeah you asked if I am on racks or hanging. Im in one of those hanging screens. It folds up to a 1 foot circle and has 6 levels. You can see the top two levels hanging in the pic of the shed/trimming area above. It works great. I think its good for about 3 lbs maybe only 2 1/2 if its fluffy
