Right size for 3.5 weeks?

These are 3.5 weeks old and I sort of think they should be bigger by now. There about 3 inches tall. Northern Lights strain. Under 8 floros shop lights-full spectrum. I recently transplanted them into bigger pots. Using your basic organic soil with minumal nutes of 20/20/20.

They are 5 inches from lights, I can't get them any closer but I'm hoping they'll grow up to the lights so I can keep them within 1 or 2 inches.

I've heard NL is a smaller growing strain anyway - short and bushy. If I have to wait until they are 12 inches to start flower stage, this will be a long grow!

I don't know what else I can do except maybe put them closer to the lights, but at this point my grow room is cramped and I can't get them any closer than 5 inches from the lights.

Those look OK for 3 weeks in soil given your lighting conditions.

What type of nutrients are you using? If you feed them a very diluted grow type nutrient (1-4-10) it will help to kick things off a bit.

CFL's don't really need to be 1 inch away from the plant... It helps but its not absolutely necessary. I keep mine 5 or 6 inches away and they still grow fine.

You should run your lights 24 hours a day when you veg. I read that marijuana doesn't need nighttime during vegetative growth, so if you leave your lights on all the time they will grow faster.

In order to avoid shocking your plants when you switch to 12/12 you can go:
20/4
18/6
14/8
each for a week leading up to the 12/12 switch.

By doing this your plants will get more daytime exposure for longer during the veg stage. They might show sex earlier too.

Just a piece of advice.

This plant is about 3 weeks old into veg. It was in my attic where it was really cold and started wilting but once i brought it inside where it was warm and put it under constant light it took off. I just topped it a few minutes ago.
