It's a lot of personal preference. I use 24/0 because I'm using t5 HO's - they don't put out a lot of heat, and they're cheaper to run. I've used 18/6 before with the same lights....I did see a difference in how fast my nirvana breeder sativas grew (2 different strains, however). Some people say the roots grow better in the dark, etc. If you're using HID's, u may wanna go with 18/6 to let the bulb cool and keep your room cooler(ish).

DAY 15 (DAY 11 OF VEG)

I started my plants on nutes today. I have 6 gallons in my reservior and the suggested amount of nutes was 15 ml per gal. That would call for 90 ml of nutes. I was going to put in 1/4 of that (around 20 ml) but I decided to be safer than sorry and i put in 15 ml of Pure Blend Grow and only 5 ml of the liquid karma. Hopefully this doesnt over do it. DAY 17 (DAY 13 OF VEG)

Bad news. My purple bagseed is not looking good. I'm a little worried it might not make it. I think I might have discovered the problem. Where it is positioned at, it does not have an airstone directly beneath it, so I lifted it out and the roots were dried out. Basically it wasnt getting any persperation from the airstone. I watered it well, and will continue to do so until it's roots are touching down in the reservior. Going to make sure the rockwool stays moist. I hope it can pull through.

DAY 18 (DAY 14 OF VEG)

I filled the reservior to the bottom of the net pots in hope of keeping my purple bagseed one alive. It hasn't shown any improvement so Im not sure if its going to make it. Some pics from today.

DAY 19 (DAY 15 OF VEG)

Well, I've given my purple bagseed sprout a few days and it has shown no improvement. The leaves were almost completely yellow and very brittle to the touch. The roots were no longer white so I decided to pitch it

. Not very happy with myself because I could have caught this problem if I would have payed more attention. I also forgot to say that yesterday I put in 1/4 nute strength. I'm looking to invest in a MH light for my veg cabinet. Honestly, I just dont like all my cheap-o cfls and an MH would be much more effective.

get t5 fluoro's for your veg instead of MH if price and/or space is a problem...look into it.

DAY 22 (DAY 18 OF VEG)

All my babies are looking healthy. Here are some updated pics. I also have a picture of the roots as promised. Today I cleaned up the lighting in my veg cabinet. I dont think I will be purchasing any lights as I am really tight on money at the moment. I will have pics of the new cleaned up lighting sometime soon.

DAY 23 (DAY 19 OF VEG)

Some updated pics. I added 30 ml of PureBlendGrow and 20 ml of the Liquid Karma. Im just trying to ease in the nutes. I hope im not overdoing it. Also attatched is the new lighting set up. I pitched the desk lamps. Just looks cleaner and less cluttered.
