Reusing hydroton

Soak them in some strong peroxide, 5% maybe until it has oxidized out and then bake @ 400f/200c for an hour. That is my method.
There wont be much organic material left behind.
Is this a cost thing? Hydroton is fairly cheap so if you go buying some stuff to clean it, you might as well have just went and bought some new Hydroton right?
Depending on how much you spent on the products to clean it and of course, your time.

Must have been some beast clones if they ended up that tall! I agree, SOG ftw if not on plant count; Id do NFT this time around though, an amazing system for lettuce that's so water(only need 50gal res per 100ft2)/cost efficient and if you just popped cannabis in there :blsmoke:

Heat is a good method, if you have a pressure cooker sterilize them in there at 15psi for 1-2 hour they will literally be "lab sterile". Now most of us have way too much hydroton to pop in a cooker or just throw away

From tops eh. Must of been a good one, I mostly used an old ISS cut from up north for SOG

Its working out great. I’ve never grown with it, it was released in November I believe so this is my first grow with it. So far plants are looking healthy, I have no clay pebbles residue on my buckets and they don’t get moldy. In about 10 days the plants have exploded with new growth.
