REPORT: I Smoked My Males

Here's the background: 4 plants each 1 week into flowering (after 6 weeks of vegging), I discover 2 of them are males. I pull the plants, trim them into a pile of leaves and cut up stem, discard the soil and roots.

I dried the male leaves in a small toaster oven on a stoneware plate at the 150° setting (actual temps in there were closer to 120° according to my infrared thermometer) for about 45 mins. After this, the leaves were super crispy and dry. I crushed them into a fine powder and removed the stems. The resulting powder looked like very dark green bud. Also to note, pretty sure I had an allergic reaction to the leaves... seemed to be almost like a weak version of poison ivy on my arms.

Alas, I packed a bowl and lit up. It was not a harsh smoke, but the flavor did have a chlorophyll hint to it. Overall not bad taste, very tolerable. After 2 bowls I noticed my heart rate was much faster and my muscles seemed relaxed. I still felt sober as a judge in my head, but there seemed to be a very real body high at work.

I have a lot more of this plant matter left, and I definitely plan to do more R&D. I'll let you know how it goes!

Sounds tempting. I will stick to the female flowers!
Definitely. I'm just trying to be experimental since I'm just getting into growing and feel horrible tossing a whole plant into the trash! I'll probably get fem seeds next time.

Don't smoke the leaves. You had an allergic reaction when you touched the leaves, so you figured you would smoke them? Maybe save what you have and throw it in with some harvested material from your females, and you can make butter or maybe an oil, but since you picked a week into flower, I wouldn't bother.. I would suggest throwing it away, and get used to the idea of throwing plant material away. Shit happens, can't save everything.

I didn't start itching and turning until after the smoke, but yes- had I noticed it then, I would've held off. No respiratory reaction though. I am planning on trying to make butter with these males anyways, since I'm guessing there's a fair amount of CBD. Could be a waste of time, but we'll see!

LMAO- Dirf ;-)_~

But seriously, I just gather all my trim and make canna butter . The fan leaves make
up the bulk, along with sugary "grade A" trim thrown in for good measure. Smoking
fan leaves is rather pointless. Happy medicating -

I smoked males once, way back in the early '80s. Found it harsh, didn't catch a buzz, but did catch a headache. My friend at the time thought it was ok and kept the rest of male greenery for himself.

To this day he still asks for any trimming I have, but no longer smokes males.

Leaves no good. Ive had a couple males when the sacs were smoked i got fried. They were sticky and stinky to begin with.

Everyone pays attention to the females. In breeding programs if males were sampled, then maybe a liitle better product could be coaxed out. Most males are not worth smoking. The rare ones will get you high.
