I'm in somewhat the same boat as you... planning a move to CA (though still haven't decided whether it'll be CA, elsewhere, or even stay here)... frankly after a lot of reading and researching i'm half tempted to stay where i'm at.... but really can't it's not just the risk i'm looking to leave behind but the ability to not live quite so in the closet.
Anyway, here are my thoughts on your thread:
* most of your questions on limits/legal issues have been asked/answered 100x in this forum, all you gotta do is do a little reading
* SD - obviously not from there, but from what i've heard most of SD is pretty medical unfriendly except for one enclave i can't remember the name of sure someone'll know the one i'm thinking of and post the name.. too lazy to check a map
* Socal is probably an easier market to break into than nocal as far as selling to dispensaries, but now a lot are getting shut down so that may change. you're probably more likely to be targeted by cops in socal
* Sounds like nocal is almost impossible to break into unless you're bringing the true top shelf west coast strains that they can't get enough of like topshelf GSC
* Nowhere on the west coast wants you to move there - no one wants the competition -- but there are some cool people on here who don't care
* indoor as stated here 2000 - 3200... 2400 seems to be about average for general topshelf 28-32 for the in demand strains
* bring money or have income lined up you're gonna need to pull in a lot indoor to make a decent living and electric isn't cheap in cali lots of $$ for setup and expenses to cover
It can be done but you better have resources to get through your harvest (or worse yet a bad harvest) and be a go getter. The average pothead who thinks he's going to grow for a living ain't gonna make it in cali.
