RED MYLAR hahahahahahahaahhahaaaa , are we not meant to be reflecting light as to not waste our precious electric ???? there is nothing to work out 1000,000 tests have been done fgs, white , flat white , or mylar , ps is tin foil ok if i spay it yellow ?

????? What's so funny????? Are you the phuking mylar expert at RIU ???? I mean look at your post below from another thread, less than 30 days ago you didn't even know when to plants your rooted clones....duhh. And now your your a phucking know it all who gets their rocks off brow beating someone for "experimenting" with something different....As far as I'm concerned, the red mylar is doing just as good if not better than the chrome mylar in my flower room. And I have 35+ grows in that flower room to compare it to....Jeesh, what a douche bag

whats so funny ??? its funny because red mylar is innafective and proven as duff at reflecting light , and for your information i have 400+ plants in a loft and a flat, i have grown for 5yrs and my mother for 15, so put your chest away, the information i gave is not new and proven and his experiment is a waste of time , ok let him waste his time and i wont say what i think even tho its an opinion forum , did i use any insults ??? i laughed because i found it funny ?? sorry not allowed either ??? and as for your comment on my thread , so what ?? i have always left my clones to form full roots before potting , but it seems i didnt need to , either way it didnt matter unless speed was important so what ??? i will refrain form playground insults and let you keep your sweets lol , peace.

ps also when did this happen drama queen ?? "" And now your your a phucking know it all who gets their rocks off" brow beating someone" for "experimenting ??????????????

why is 400 plants bullshit ?? what are you on about ??? its a scientific fact that a white flat surfaces reflect light better than anything red , why dont you answer the questions i posted to you instead of more insults like bullshit - when you clearly do not know my grow op ??? i credited you with being old enough to be in a playground , is it ok to downgrade you to a nursery ? i have 400+flowering plants , 250-in vegg- and 40 clones and thats a lie because ??? dear o dear...................

Light travels in waves and is made up of all of the colors of the spectrum.
You can see this when light is bent through the use of a prism. When light
hits an object 3 things can happen: it can be absorbed, it can be reflected
or it can be transmitted (or shine right through). When white light hits an
object, usually some of the light's energy is absorbed by the object. Any
part of the spectrum (energy) that is not used by the object is reflected
back. The portion of the spectrum that is reflected back is the color that
you actually see. For example, the reason that green plants are green is
that chlorophyll absorbs light in the blue and red and reflects light in the
green and yellow. So black is actually when all the light energy is absorbed
and no light is being reflected back. So it isn't really the absence of
color, its the absence of any reflected light. White is actually when all
of the light is reflected and none of it is absorbed. So it is still made up
of all of the colors of the spectrum..... amen!

It's grows bigger plants, learn to read, fuck... 1st page and one of the beginning comments.
yeah i saw the tomato study you posted and it merely states that your red mulch is better than black , but nothing reflects better than white , i studied this in my phd, you may be convincing yourself that its true thats 1 thing , but nasa and the scientists that research this are wrong ........lol ok , enjoy your toms.

Nothing reflects **color** better than white... We're talking about lumens and flowering-specific spectrums here... Also, never put it past nature to throw an unexpected curve-ball your way.

ok, the red "mylar" isnt reflective. its a mulch for tomatoes outdoors. you use it because it warms the spring soil better than clear or black allowing you to plant tomatoes earlier in the season which leads to bigger plants. bigger plants lead to bigger yields. once the plant gets big, it shades the red mulch and thats why it doesnt burn up your roots after summer is rolling. thats ALL it does and it works great for that. i dont want to get into the rest of these arguments about what it can or cant do, i just know what its designed for. if you like it, use it. if you dont, dont. if you want, you could always wrap your body up in it, dance around the plants chantting "it rubs the lotion on the skin or it gets the hose again", lololol. im sure the extra co2 would help the plants and someone would swear by it lololololol!!!

Red plastic much increases tomato yields primarily because it reflects far red light. It also warms and moderates soil temperature. Not all red colors will enhance far red irradiation. Red mylar might be effective, but it will not warm the soil. More effectively to increase flowering yields indoors add some Far red lights, and keep white plastic or reflective mylar.

Wave point Coral Wave T5s are actinics plus far red and are known to trigger flowering under the right conditions.

Philips has Far Red LED lamps that are specifically designed for flowering.

Who are we to pass any judgement on anyone for what they wish to try in THIER garden.

What we should do as a society, is encourage and promote critical thinking and let the person do what they wish and be thankful they are sharing the knowledge with us, so that WE can learn what to do or what not to do. If you think you have nothing to learn, then you are a fool and deserve to be treated as one.

If you share the same admiration for growing weed as should be, only gestures of hope and encouragement should be on the pages following the OP's Idea.

Whether it works or not, there is one thing for sure, this kind person is going to share that with us, and that is badass regardless of the subject matter.

Peace and Share the Knowledge

Who cares as long as he gets a good yield and is happy. Why not try gold next time or Magenta. lol
I agree. Why all the judges and unfriendly arguing? If it works for him then good on him. Everyone needs to roll a joint and relax.... supposed to be a friendly community of like-minded individuals.
