Recommended nutes for a beginner growing in coir blocks

I only know of ph up and down. But its so strong you need a ph pen or strips. Its crazy strong. Unless you trust doing the math.

GH says

How much pH Up/Down is needed per gallon?
Start out with one milliliter per gallon. Wait 15 To 30 minutes, and test your water again. Frequently you will only need 1 to 2 ml of pH Up/Down per gallon of water. You may need additional pH Up/Down if you have hard water. The General Hydroponics Flora Series is pH buffered to facilitate keeping the pH in a favorable range.

I think Im reading this thread wrong. Because I end up having to test pH again. And you need to pH water. Plain water. So.. You NEED strips or a pen for the most efficiency.

AN fulvic/humic products are JUNK sonny! Almost NO Fulvic/Humic product on the market has concentrations or are made from the best source products, that do REAL effective work on your plants. 5% liquid Humic's like most liquid cartoon labeled bottles. Are weak and impure = don't actually do what REAL Humic/Fulvic products CAN do!

IF you were to actually USE a REAL Humic/Fulvic with your AN or any synthetic nutrient. You would have to reduce the % of nutrient used or you would COOK your plants real fast!

The BEST Humic/Fulvics are from Bio Ag and are named Ful Power and Ful Humix. They are the best - no doubt about it!
There is another called Sea Green that works like the Bio Ag products too......

OP, If I were you and beginning. I would start out in soil, FAR more forgiving and you'll learn the basic's of growing better faster with less work.

I've run it......I don't like that they "push" the plant so hard......Makes your soil a "brick" in soil.....
One of the lower end nutes in my book due to how they instruct you to use it among other things.
Another product with too many "parts" that are overpriced and un-needed to do a great job.

I could care less what you think, I'm loving the simplicity of AN, 2 - 3ml of A and 2 - 3ml of B, done.

I never even take a look at instructions, because fertilizer industry is always looking for a way to convince you that you need to feed more and more! They don't give a fuck what happens to your crop! I know how to use my nutrients and don't need charts and schedules to teach me how to feed my plants.

Baking soda for the water and calcitic and dolomitic lime for the media. Is lime used for coco? I use coco in my mix , I am a fan.

my thaughts exactly if its such a lie as they say why do i have top shelf bud and better yields then i had with canna
not to mension it being cheaper.... i dont know where he gets the idea of my wallet ive never had nutes cheaper than AN

I don't recommend miracle grow, but said it could be used. I wouldn't use it, but some people have great success with it. And it is definitely cheap.

I learnt a lot from this post so I'd just like to thank everyone that posted for their input. So at the end of the day there is that many different brands trying to sound better than the other to sell to you and I had to go with one. I ended up going with "Dutch master Gold range one" mainly because my friend grows in it and has good results so if I have problems he can help me out and also it was reasonably priced and easy to get . I also bought cal-mag, replaced my ph strips with a ph pen, just need to get some ph up/down and a ec/ppm pen and I think I'm ready. Once again I'd just like to thank everyone for their feedback it's highly appreciated! Cheers

I didn't see any mention of it on this thread but there's an important consideration when choosing your coco coir. Some brands are pre-buffered with Ca & Mg but some are not. It's important to know because it has a major impact on plant diet.

Whatever you do end up going with please for the love of god take my advice. Start using a ph pen and ppm pen.

Not only to make sure, verify and get used to one, but build a mental library of ppms and plant stages.

I know theirs pH buffers and i guess strength is not cared about... but .. Its always good to know. sometimes you NEED to know.

And when you do have isssues you dont want your thumb up your ass wondering how coco run off works to solve a deficiency or check the pH of your plain water...

I also read that pH should be done prior to adding nutes. But that could be horse shit.

Anyway. your gonna need to ph shit every day. And ppm your seedling mixes.

Which on that note WTF this year my tap water is like 5.3pH... I need ph up this year compared to an easy 6.1pH last year.....

If using coffee black humic acid (or any other colored dyed nutrient/additive)....bromothymol blue drops and the often incorrect color chart is completely useless. Get the right tools for the job that is hydroponics (yes coco coir is hydro). Do you think those perfect hot house veggies you eat were grown (almost exclusively in rockwool...perlite....or coco slabs) without a greenhouse workers pH/EC field meter?

Thanks for your unsolicited advice. I've been growing weed for over 30 years - I think I know what I'm doing. First - I don't add useless additives - I found a long time ago they are a waste of money - I just use GH MaxiBloom. Second - I am fully aware that coco is hydro (never said it wasn't). Third - I never have a discolored leaf throughout my grows due to pH being off or any other problems - plants are always perfect. Please don't assume that your way is the only way.
