Old rdwc setup I made out of 50 hdx totes with a waterfall back to a main res. I’ll stick to dirt though anymore. 5064907F-A87B-4676-B55A-4F91901A6D03.jpegI’ll

If you don’t have chiller forget it
Not a problem to run DWC without a chiller. You just have to stop following bad advices and think you can follow the same directions regarding environmental factors as plants grown in soil.

Hydro is hydro, not soil and if you don't understand the basic principles you will experience problems. Like keeping temps below 25C/77F at all times. And not run lights 24/7 and as a result not letting temps drop below 18C/68F when light are out. When you have that covered you introduce an oxidizer of choice. I've always found regular bleach to be cleanest and easiest to use.

Main thing is controlling water temps, you do that by controlling the environment properly by not following numbers intended for soil!

@iVirus The thread's is a bit disjointed for me because I do not see all the posts, but I do detect some hostility lol, shocker eh? But what else to expect on the Trollitup forum. Anyhoo here's a link to a very simple reliable set up that pretty well eliminates the usual DWC problems.

No saying it can’t be done. Have done it. You want reliable results in the reservoirs, get a frigging chiller. Then top off with 2 ml per gal of HO2O to make sure everything’s fresh with your weekly note change.

Use all the chemicals you want. Temp above 70 f is trouble.

If it’s something you plan on doing some time with, a chiller cost about the same as a qp here, great fucking investment. I treat the water as part of the environment, need to have control of every aspect imo. First harvest pays the equipment.

Cleaned everything out, using h2o2 as of now everyday (1.5 ml per gallon) and yes I got a chiller.

A chiller and peroxide sounds like a good decision, just make sure there is 100% no light leaks, I use panda film on my basket tops to cover the leca.

If you arent going to get a chiller i recommend UC roots at max strength and using a bigger water transfer pump to increase dissolved oxygen levels
