They don't sell these on Amazon.CA?
Nope... they won't ship to Canada either. Those really are the buckets I want, I just haven't found them in black anywhere else except TheCaryCompany, I'm still waiting for a shipping quote to Canada from them.

I was gonna mention u line I get their catalog every year. Luckily all 3 of those bucket sizes come in BLACK TOO.
I believe only the 4-gallon ones come in black on UNLINE Canada?

So my options are:

- ULINE 4-gallon ($8.25 ea + shipping)
- EZ Stor 8-gallon ($23.99 ea + from local hydro shop)
- Drop the extra $$$ and use a parcel forwarding service to get the 5-gallon amazon.com buckets ($90 for 8 buckets + $120 shipping + $30 duty fees)

I'm treating this build as my 'perfect' build... hoping not to make any upgrades for a while lol. What would you suggest?

I will agree the sqaure are more ideal for bulkheads. But with bulkhead fittings you can use regular 5 gal. If you can't get the square ones. I haven't looked at the cost difference but I do run the normal 5gal pail without issue. They flex and you may lose at most 1" in how deep you can put the bulkhead

Just go with u line. They're cheap enough
I'm leaning towards ULINE right now. My only concern is that the roots might clog the smaller bucket... I'm only able to go with a 2" return line because of the size of my grow tent flanges (2.78 inches)

Haha, if you're in a 4X4 tent with 4 plants , use 3" bulkheads to be sure, but you ain't clogging Shit.

haha, good to know, that was my main concern!

Do you have any other tips / tricks to successful waterfall builds? I've researched it a lot, just wondering if there are any secrets ;)

Use flat surfaces for bulkheads. If you're gonna use rounded like a 5gal bucket, UniSeals are MADE for curved surfaces and are probably better. But nothing's better than flat and using a bulkhead.

In a 4x4 2" is plenty in my opinion. You ain't growing no trees in a 4x4 tent. But 3" can't hurt.
I thought about going for a 5x5, but they were out of stock during the Black Friday sales and my grow / gym room is already quite crowded as it is, so I figure 4x4 will be fine. I managed pretty well with two plants in a 2.5 x 2.5 for a while, so this should be a nice upgrade :D

Use one bulkhead per bucket, and one bulkhead coming through each of the SIDES of your res, for each pair of buckets. In other words have your buckets connected in sets of two each using their own pipe to go to the res using a 90 and a TEE for each set. That way you can plumb your inline pump in the FRONT of your res and into your tent, to the manifold. Keep the res outside. Tents aren't expensive so don't worry about cutting a few X's into it.

Ewww that word... Lol unileaks have no place in hydro. The blukheads work absolutely fine on a reg 5 gal... But you do lose about 1/2-1" on how far down you wanna put them to allow flex

I've used uniseals for 3 years with zero leaks. They work great if you just do it right
