Rapid Rooter questions

Do they work well for sprouting seeds?
Can I put them in a solo cup to start with? Or should I wait until they sprout?
Should I soak the seeds before I put them in the rooter like i would with a paper towel?

They work. I went threw a bag mostly for clones and some seeds. I'm cheep and use precharged coco from the paper towels now.

Moisten them, drop seed in hole, tear corner off bottom and cover up the seed. Keep moist until it sprouts. I wait for a couple roots to show before putting into media. I have used them with hydroton, soil, and coco with no issues. Now for seeds, I am just using buffered coco like soil and dropping seeds directly into it.

I've been using them for decades..........nearly 100% germination.
4 days from planting seed.........10 for 10.

I place them in solo cups after they sprout and I see a root coming out the bottom.

This is how i do mine i know they arent rapid rooters but same deal. Ive never done the paper towel method ever and pretty much get a 100% germ rate. Pointy side up about a pencil eraser deep then high humidity. For 3-5 days typically does it. I actually just planted the below seeds TODAY at 12:00pm mtn time haha!

They work great for clones or seeds. Just drop seed in and cover like @TCH said or just stick a cutting in after you use whatever you prefer for a rooting powder/gel. Store them in the fridge if you don't use them all so they don't mold up on you. If you want to do one at a time they fit perfectly in a shot glass. Or these 8oz food containers hold about 7-8.

I use the paper towel method and then into Rockwool. I might try your method.

Good lookin roots

I sprout my seeds in a paper towel, then cut the RR open on one corner so it can be bent open like a book.

I put the sprout in the RR and close it up, then plant the RR in a cup of pro mix.

100% plants.

1000 ways to skin a cat - as they say - but rooter plugs are pretty bullet proof.

I presoak them in Clonex ( gold liquid ) for seeds and clones - then the magic happens.

That's how I started too

But that does work too.

10:1 pee dilute - matter of fact - i am using a pee foliar listed in P.I.S.S. method thread

Never thought about using Clonex for seeds. I'm guessing it helps establish a big rootzone fast? That's pretty cool

Couple drops into shotglass of water - soak seeds or bowl of water for rooters to presoak .

Cuttings - i add some to glass of water holding clone cuts.

Sofar everything ive tried with a cloning gel and Root Riot plugs have grown. Done quite well too.

Why is mine purple and yours golden colored?
