So ive recently tried seed propagation in rapid rooter and had shit luck. 2 out of 20 seeds made it to transplant. I pre germ my seeds paper towel method in ceramic plates on a heat mat. After about 1/2 inch taproot I place in my rooter. And they just all keep dying off. Some Crack above the plug, but can't shake their casing and die, some shake the seed and die, some get right to the top of the plug and never see the light of day.. I used to always use seed starting soil, but have had issues with hydrophobic soil last 2 times I got it. So wanted to try something new. This is multiple different breeders all the same result. Am I alone on this? Something I'm missing? Or are these just not best for seeds and more for cloning only? Any input is appreciated. I was like 50/54 before hand, but got fed up with the hydrophobic soil and hand squeezed the last batch to ensure moisture. And that killed the seeds too. Seriously any and all input appreciated. Sucks to have burned through $250 worth of seeds.
Side note I have a vivosun germ kit with humidity dome and heat matt. Feel like the tiny holes may be a issue as well. Not enough fresh air.
