Rant: Getting high during youtube videos

It seems to be the fad recently for stoners to make youtube videos of themselves getting high. Generally the video is about their grow, activism, answering questions, ect, but they have to take 5 mins at the beginning and allow us to watch them suck or dab or spark, and then cough. If you want to be high during the video, why not get high before you turn the cam on? Should I make a video of my mother taking her insulin shots? Do we need to watch Bill Maher spark up before his monologue? Would you really want to watch Rush crush up his oxy's and deal with a nose bleed everyday during his show?

No one is impressed with your getting high on cam except big brother.

And of course I understand there are exceptions: weed reviews, pipe reviews, ect, but if you are making a video promoting medical activism, it's gonna look strange to an outsider to see you choking your ass off.
 
I agree. I`m an info hound so I watch lots of vids which are slow enough to load already.
I really hate being held hostage while they burn weed. I mean really dude I`m not 6 I know what smoking
weed looks like and now you look like an ass hat. Anyway yes pet peeve. Knock it the fuck off already.

Guilty as charged. Though it's for no reason other than to celebrate getting high with my peeps on RIU.
 
As long as getting high was the plot people know what they are getting. Its when they bury it
in the advertised content that gets me all cheesed off. lol

I agree, and have never done that in any videos other than those in which I'm specifically taking dabs. Definately wouldn't put it at the beginning of a grow vid or anything.
 
Yea agree. If smoking is the point to the video, it's a little different. There is no pretense. Also with weednerd, the point of the videos is to allow us access to Sub during the times when Sub can get away, which is also when he smokes.

I suppose when I think about it, there are more exceptions to my rule than not. I guess my real problem is when it amounts to boasting or pretentiousness, which is a lot of the crap on youtube.
 
I just like watching melt shots and things like that. I can't watch things like tokindaily or those weird redband guys...they just smoke and babble about nothing

I do love the weed nerd tho....Sub is a cool dude
 
See I`m a complete asshole I dont even need to see sub smoke. lol
However there is one guy who gets stoned and says really random shit while trying to get people to join
his collective or some shit like that. Total train wreck and I love it. I thought I had a link but cant find it now

I just made a comment about this on someone's youtube video! To me it's just annoying, like making me watch you eat a sandwich before getting on with the topic at hand. I think it's just weird and makes me feel uncomfortable/embarrassed for the person toking on camera. I don't see why they can't edit out the toking and just keep the stoned babbling if that's what they're going for.

Next topic: Ubiquitous reggae music intro to every damn weed video...

Lol as if Marley and the country of Jamaica are the only musical influences on pot, and growing it.
