Quick torch qeuestion!?!?!

awile ago i finally decided i was gonna blow glass, and within the last week or so ive been lookin for equipment and trying to price it all out. i recently had an offer on a nortel major/minor bench burner, i believe the torch is surface mix, but im not 100 percent sure. the guy im buying it from got it at an estate sale and dosnt kno much about it himself, other than the fact that its in like new condition. the price hes asking for is $300. i wanna blow mainly peices, but also want the availibilty to work with other glass art forms. my question is, even after all the things ive read, from one stoner to another, is this a quality torch to start off with and worth the money? my original intention was to save the month of may and then purchase the carlisle hellcat. i wanna blow everything except large bongs. what do you guys think? heres a pic too btw

he had someone interested so i just went ahead and bought it. did a little quick readin and search on youtube and they seem to be good for boro glass. at that price i think it will be more than sufficient as a torch to start with

lol, i cant tell if your being serious or sarcastic there, espeically with them hands claping. i hope your serious, because this is something ive wanted to do now for about 10 years, pretty much since i started smoking and got my first glass peice. i kno that torch isnt the nicest, but i see it around in a bunch, and kno itll be just fine for learning. i really want the CC. once i get everything setup and started that will actually be my next big purchase after that, itll be a hobby and money dump for a year , and thats just fine with me, i have an already great job and make good money so i am prepared. but after that year of practice and playing around with the torch and learning it and how to manipulate the material at hand, its all business from there, definately wanna get something put together on the side for a small business.

thanks dude! i really feel confident about this, and there isnt much that i feel like this towards, anything that involves working wtth my hands seems to be my strong point. im already an artist with my hands. i went to menards yesterday to look at things i will need and was in the process of looking for a stone material to make a work surface table top out of when, BAM! it hit me, now im on the hunt for an older shitty pool table, that still has a good slate top, which i will be seperating from the table, and keeping as my work surface, im gonna build a really nice sturdy frame for it at work. it will be good and thick, heavy and square, and a possibly even a giant marving pad, not to mention it will stay cool. ive already talked to our laser engineer at work about getting a few parts designed and fired, then machined and put together for the ultimate torch mount, ill also be building a kiln frame/table at work as well. i see all sorts of jigs and devices being used by people to help aid in their process of creating something, and when i look these things up and se the prices, my heart sometimes skips a beat, its not that i cant afford it, i can, that just means ill be waiting that much longer to save up for that item, and itll be that much longer before im blowing, but when i really look at these peices, theyre nothing, exspecially when you work around all the same machines being used to make these things. so i do have that much to my advantage, ill probably save over a grand just making some of these things, and theyll be of equal or better quality than what i could buy. im gonna really push myself and budget this, its gonna be hard, but i wanna be up and going by end of summer, or at the latest begining of fall
