Question, how is a "control bucket" used? I really want to have this setup

You can use the same bucket for the control as you don't need to flood to the top of the bucket.

Couple points on the control bucket. You want the 1st and 2nd upper floats to straddle the elevation where you want the flood to end. Your buckets should flood to about half or 2/3. No higher than that.

Put the bottom two floats pretty close together and the lowest one should be as close to the bottom of the bucket as possible and still be able to move. !

What strength water pumps would you suggest? 9 buckets, 55 gal res 5 gallon buckets.

The brain will be here tomorrow! :)
I do have another question tho. I'm goi.g to use 3/4" tubing as u suggested. Should I just get T's and plug those into the buckets? (with grommets around the holes of course) or would u suggest something different? What size holes should I drill in the buckets for those as well? Thanks! I've been looking around I can't really find the specifics tho.

Yeah. Just plug the T into the bucket.

Word to the wise. The grey plastic fittings (T's, etc) at Home Depot and lowes fit better and leak less than the black ones at the hydro store.

What size hole? Ummm 7/8 maybe? If you have a harbor freight you just get one of there index bits. They are shaped like a cone and can cut all kinds of different size holes. I think they are called step drills.

Take your time assembling the brain. It's not hard but it sucks to have to redo it at all.

I would use bulkhead fittings and plumbing parts from lows/hd, etc. Cost more but I think its worth it. U can search for bulkheads on line.

Also I would use either a float valve for RO tanks or a rojo valve (agri supply)
A~~~
