Question about LST

About to low stress train my plants for the first time, I know what it is, and I know how I’m gonna do it but some of the videos I watched some people were cutting leaves off while doing it, I was under the impression you shouldn’t really cut auto flower plants is this true ? And should I avoid cutting some leaves off or can I do it ?

I'm new, so take my opinion with a grain or two of salt.

I LST'd this run (photoperiod)
- Bent plant at appx. 80 degree angle, grew across the pot.
- one topping, to redirect growth laterally,
- aggressive pruning at week 4 of veg
- aggressive pruning at week 3 of flower (I should have been more aggressive, I have a minor jungle now...)
- No pruning, tuck leaves where they shade buds --- let 'em run.

After LSTing a plant, sometimes a lower leaf might need to be removed if it's touching your medium. Is that what you are referring to? When I LST early the most that would ever be removed is one maybe two leaves, plus anything on the medium.

So leaves that touch the medium I should cut off ? Even tho I have auto flowers ? The leaves that touch the medium are HUGE fan leaves I should still cut em ?

If they are laying in the medium day after day yes cut them off.

I suggest doing only one per day for an auto. Do too many and you will cause it to slow down.

How big is the plant btw? How many nodes?

Answering that will help us tell you if it is too early to remove anything.

Plants are all a little over 4 weeks.. almost 5 weeks.. and not sure how many nodes will let you know later when I get home

Look up "supercropping", your plants are big and old enough to benefit from it while bending your branches.

With my autos, whether I top or LST, I wait until node 6-7, remove under 4 (never amounts to anything) and start training.
It's grower preference and what your comfortable with. Auto BlueBerry Domina, started training 19 days from sprout.

:o Wow that's a lot to take off. With more aggressive LST you can get that lower growth to turn into something great.

I've haven't gown autos yet, gonna give them a go in a greenhouse in the summer
I think I'd try to circle the pot with them - I used to do that back in the day when I had real limited space and it worked really well
