QUESTION ABOUT 1ST DRYING PROCESS?!

Hey guys I have a question... I’m on my first harvest.... 3 plants which I chopped down 3 days ago... I wanted to do a slow dry to avoid any hay smell and make sure all compounds are properly broken down... so I planned on 60F/60RH for 10-14 days.... I have them hanging in my bathroom with a mini fan blowing under the buds I don’t feel air blowing on my hand when I place it near any hanging buds but I do feel SOME airflow and the mini fan was on high... humidity has been 52-60... temps have been 63-66... and The weather here in Cali right now is cool and rainy for like 2 weeks so it’s perfect to just dry a few plants without having to run the humidifier BUT today I went to just check again as I always do a few times a day... and I noticed, the very tips of my nugs already seem a little dry/crispy... they’re not like DRY cuz I squeezed one and it’s still squishy and sticky but ALL the tips of the buds feel way dryer then the rest... no stems snap yet and working back up from the ends of the colas they feel really moist still! I left most fan leaves on for slower drying here in dry so cal.. and at first I think I was squeezing some of the super dry fan leaves and sugar leaves which are already pretty dry and shriveled. So at this point I have turned off my bathroom exhaust and fan and have the humidifier going to get up to 60%.... just wondering is this normal for the tips to dry faster and will they moisten up as more water roll down that stem or do you think running the mini fan below the hanging buds on high for 3 days causes this? As I said they feel a little dry but they’re not like crispy breaking up they still squish... so I hope they will even out once they go in jars... I just don’t want to throw them in jars for at least another 7-10 days. So ADVICE PLEASE :) fan or no fan? Run bathroom exhaust for few hours a day or not? Thanks!!!!View attachment 4510480
Hang them in the dark to dry

For super sticky take it down just above 60. I pull some out and put in snap container in the tray in the morning, by quitting time they are perfect. When done right your smoke will be silk smooth, will only need to be lit once, will not sidewind will be less speedy (Sativa). Will have an after smoke flora that brings out all the subtlety of the strain your are growing. Nothing sucks more than spending 16 weeks and then not wanting to wait two more and ending up with a bunch of overdry taste and aroma-less lawn clippings.

I checked my tricombs this morning AFTER I watered, and it looks like 2 of my plants are ready. So I'm in the same boat. Wasn't a full water, as I normally do 1/2 and then the other 1/2 in about an hour. So I am going to let mine dry out between today and Wednesday before I chop and put them into my drying tent. So I'm about a week behind you in my first chop. I'll be watching this thread to see how it all plays out!
Nice man yea for sure lemme kno! Yea i heard by just watering them just a little and letting them get a strong wilt for at least a few days theyll stress and think they're gonna die soon and supposed to produce more or fatter trichs... I think i def noticed a difference because i started this grow with a seed i found in a jar of disneyland og and with all the research and time and effort plug growing 100% organically... i shit you not this bud looks way more fire then what i found the seed in lol even tho it was pretty good... plus mine has NO seeds. beautiful buds, today is day 5 and they're just starting to go from the fresh cut grass smell to gaining its beautiful OG back. Looks like it's gonna be about 6 days 7 max (total) im thinking till they're ready to trim and jar up.

Hung for 5-7 days. 67F/50RH. (Moving indirect air/scrubber. Auto RH controller).
Trim.
2-3 nights in a jar (burped), then vacuum sealed works for me.

Nice! yes looks like im the SAME boat my temps and rh pretty much the same a lil higher about 55-60RH and 66F today is day 5 and some of the smaller buds on bud plant are snapping off, and the outsides are starting to crisp... stems still a little too bendy to jar tho so im thinking either day 6 or 7. Also day 3 and 4 and today but much less today they had a reallllly fresh grass smell... But i could finally smell the og starting to come back... it's always been there when i squeeze a nug i just think the gases were being realeased into the air pretty hardcore so it smelt like a lawnmower bag lol. I know the cure takes care of this... but did you experience this? the fresh cut grassy smell? I mean it is fresh cut grass after all lol right?

Some strains will exhibit the grass smell after cutting more than others. If you follow the members tips you are getting and keep it dark, cool 55-65F and above 55 RU the whole time you will be glad you waited the two weeks and be rewarded with some top shelf buds. Number one thing that helped with this before I knew my plants was a dozen of the little RU/temp meters from Amazon. They are not dead accurate within a few points but they allow you to know what’s going on in the jar and in the bud.
