Quantum board combined with LED strips.

Hi guys just wondering what you think of this, I have a ISH 265W Pro quantum board. which I believe is 2 qb 288v2(might not be v2 might just be v1) boards running Samsung lm301b diodes and at 3000k. I made a previous thread on how the boost the light round the edges in a 3x3 as the qb 265w is rectangular shape doesn't quite cover the edges on 2 sides and was recommended to contact diyled to see what he thinks and he told me to add these to my tent https://diyleduk.com/collections/scoper-stripkits/products/scope-150-r-enhanced-diy-led-strip-kit.

He said he would customise it making it wider so i'd be able to bolt my qb right imbetween the 2 strips, creating more coverage for the sides which sounds fantastic, but there is one thing im unsure about and want to clear up well I still have a chance and don't know if im worrying over nothing. But I realise that the quantum board likes a little bit of distance from the canopy and the scope led strips seem to be able to get a lot closer to the canopy, as they advertise. My worry is if I have the qb attatched to the same frame as the led strips ill have to mainly accustom the height to the QB as that's the primary source of lighting and my worry is if I have is at 18 -24 inches, the led strips will not be as effective as they are further away from the canopy than what they are designed for in flowering. so they wont be as effecting as im hoping for. is this nothing to worry about or am I right in thinking this? should i consider another option? interested to hear your guys opinions as I know some of you are pretty much lighting experts. Thanks!

yeah I suppose kinda wanted to avoid that to be fair hence why i wanted to get it built in 1 unit so I can hang one light and not have loads of hanging cables everywhere, pissing around with heights for different lights reckon I should just add a 150w qb to the area or sell my 265w qb and buy a 370w strip kit? Want just 1 unit tokeep things simple and effective.

As one of the options everybody suggests me is to dim my qb to accustom to the led strips but if I do that I’m essentially paying like £170+ for like an extra 70 watts whichever just seems a crazy to me even though it’s slightly better coverage, just feel like surely there’s a better solution

@diyled is the Man! I told you he'd sort you out.

Here is the ISH 265 in a 3ft x 3ft

ISH 265 is running top to bottom.
The 2 strips will also run top to bottom, topping up the Lhs and Rhs numbers to similar levels as the bottom and top.

Im running 5 of the strips over a meter length x 600mm wide in a 4 x 4 so I top up one side with extra light down one side of the tent.
I mess about with all sorts of lights down the side to get the numbers up. But it definitely works.
Scope v2 and R2D2, sorry, R2T boards.... lol

~ 270 watts on the strips.
14" from tops. Around 700 - 800 reading on the par meter.

I suppose it's either use the side strips or replace the ISH with a full strip light.
I've run a Scope 240 with Hinflux and F strips in a 32" x 32" tent and coverage of was great.

Reckon I could stick the 370 scope v2 kit in there and dim for veg and increase for flower? , so you do agree with me that the qb is slightly too powerfully to run at the same height as the scope v2 kit size become of the intensity

Yea, no problems with the Scope 370 v2 kit.
Adding the two strips and frame with the ISH should also do the job too. They'd even the side numbers up.

Here's a par map of the Scope 240 V2 in a 4ft x 4ft tent. 200 watts
This fixture isn't as long as the one I'm using now. More square than rectangular.
5 x V2 strips, 615mm x 500mm
They're powerful lights.
