For general pest preventatives.. there's plenty of options in the SNS line that are all natural and won't induce any headaches in terms things you'd get with your typical systemics. Check out the list of their natural pesticides here http://sierranaturalscience.com/products/natural-pesticides - if questions, ask and will do my best to field if I'd used the specific product you're asking about.

Thinking about the soil drench for sure (can't really determine if that little bug I saw was a huge aphid now) and possibly the systematic. Used either one of those? If so, did it rid the problem as well as prevent?

For a soil drench, or something specific to root aphids... I'd let the soil dry out (mostly until 2-3 inches of the top are mostly dry, anyway) then give it a soil drench with a -low- % hydrogen peroxide.. it'll fry the fuckers in the soil, any larvae/those hiding will be insta-crispy. The STS for soil drench is very nice, have to say that - as for systemics.. as a general rule I will use -nothing- that is systemic unless I need BT.. and at that, it'd be a last ditch effort to save a whole mess of crops (of which I've never had to do so, knock on wood) That said.. if I've determined that there is a nasty systemic bacterial infection, I wouldn't hesitate to use whatever I deemed to be 'safe' for the project.

I was at the garden center talking to my friend that runs hydro there, and asked him about sms. He immediately told me that systemic is great. I bought it =\ Sucks to hear dif conclusions on it, but f it. I'll hold on to it in case I need it. I'm sure at some point in the course of my new favorite hobby I will have to use it

My statement was for most systemics (generally), not specific to STS. The STS one I am sure is great, but I wouldn't ever use it (or any other systemic) unless it's a last ditch effort given the affects systemics can have on cannabis - to reword that.

Good thing I picked some up. Starting having a very mild case of fungis gnats. I can see like 5-6 flying around if I look for a minute or two. They're avoiding the treated plants so far and headed to the untreated. I have a yellow sticky trap beside them and it's getting them slowly. Going to wait until I don't see any flying around and hit the last two with the treatment. Hpefully it pans out.

Should work lovely if applied as instructed.. and make sure you use strips for the airborne mofos - the rest will work itself out. Thanks for the update, although I was hoping you wouldn't have to deal with that headache for this run, or any run - for that matter. Hope everything else is good with you bro =)

Things got way worse real fast, but the past 24 hours have gotten better. I've caught 26 of those fuckers on the strips. I think I was just getting in the habit of watering too often. Also saw an aphi right after my last post. SNS209 is supposed to work on them as well, and since finishing treatment on the last girls I haven't seen any of them and the fungus gnats seem hesitant to go down into the soil. I think the SNS 209 says 2ml per 100ml water. Think I ended up doing 4 tsp per gallon and am still considering a little higher strength next watering.

HEY!! Before anyone foes buying anything from SNS, please send them an email asking if they could provide you with any kind of smaples so that you could try out there products to see if there any good... I seen on there website that they do infact offer anyone/everyone free samples!!! I had received there entire lineup of soil drench products, to spider mite soaks/sprays, etc',etc'!! All for FREE!!! I am telling ya, it wouldn't hurt 1 thing to give it a try. I bet you anything you will have a package sitiing at your door step in about a weeks time!! I did.. I posted pics of the products I received from them on my pg.

I saw your buds and instantly wanted to know what nutes you were using on those monsters. Ironically enough, it's the same brand I'm using (Jack's Bloom Booster).
Your feeding schedule however, was rather vague. Do you water once every 10 days, and only add nutes 2 of the 3 waterings per month? Didn't know what you meant by 2/3. Also, if you only add nutes 2 out of 3 monthly waterings.. Which 2 of those 3 waterings did you add Jack's to? First and second.. First and third..

I am finding that these considerations are being affected
by my choice of soil. I am using Kelloggs Patio Plus for this
Crop. It is OMRI listed and has some great components.

...but, compared to FFOF, it is very porous.

I am sure that I will be watering way more often with this
soil, though I expect it to knit together somewhat as time
goes along.
