Brought the weed out of cure. It is better than you would think being a first indoor grow and dry/cure, but it’s far from perfect.

The Lows
It is just a little harsh, hits the back of the throat just a touch
The ash isn’t super clean, I think from my fuck ups with flushing
Could have tasted and smelled even better I think
Could have been a tighter trim, might have made it smoke smoother
*update* it got quite a bit smoother as The weeks passed in cure, definitely 3 week minimum cure next time
Also I think that the papers I was using aren’t super white burning papers, the ash has been much cleaner in other papers.

So SCROG net back up on the 4x4 with round 2 of gush mints4EE3B7FD-3EB4-4485-8F77-00542F23B9D1.jpeg
Decided to try the hemp trellis…didn’t like it as much as I would have hoped, the strings slid all over the place. I made it happen, hopefully I get better, I have 26x5 of it left lol.
Defoliated and now just fill the net before flip.

yes I know my lung room is trashed, I have a construction project goingon, it’s a shit show…I’ll get it right lol.

One week later and she’s going a mile a minute.3C861293-7995-46FB-99E7-7F1E2855C767.jpeg
The only thing keeping me from flipping to flower is the spots right above 2 of the plants.E4D4B9A9-025C-4DD6-B7CA-FEA99D2F7AA8.jpeg
Those spots were a little sparse last run, so I want to get them up to the trellis before I flip. Next time to speed veg up a little, when I top after the first few times I will LST the main tops out, to promote taller growth from the center. Last time I was an oz shy of 2lbs under this light in this 4x4, so I’m gonna try to shoot for the moon and go 2.5lb. I think that’s feasible, given my early flip last time and a few other rookie mistakes.

We’ll today was the day, this is after their first 12 off. 6DD092AE-A1A4-4D62-8B36-1CB4F48B505E.jpeg
I don’t know but judging by the SCROG last time vs this time at flip…this tent is going to get STUFFED:weed:

defoliated pretty heavy last night and did a little lollipopping.9044B93B-6C91-4F09-8A07-FD7B02344CC5.jpeg
Went a little harder than last time, but I haven’t seen any harm done to this cultivar by defoliating and it makes sense to me that the light can penetrate much better without all that foliage in the way.
now I know that there is a camp of people that say there is no need to defoliate because the leaves function like solar panels and absorb energy from the light source and use that energy to carry out its necessary functions…now this also makes sense to me, because why would an organism that absorbs energy through special surfaces meant for this /purpose, why would it be able to absorb energy where light hits it, but then not be able to use that energy where it sees fit? Like I always absorb my energy through my mouth, but I use it all throughout my body. Are leaves like only powering themselves and their immediate surroundings? Does this have anything to do with mobile and immobile nutrients? Respectful input is always appreciated, and if you wanna hate, then whatever, I’m cool with that too, haters make me learn.

Yeah, I'm still running it, along with some others. Last cycle I defoliated harder than I have in a long time, and it didn't seem to slow down the plant at all. If it did slow the plant down, it was a good thing, because this strain gets huge. I had to dim my lights it got so tall. I'm also running Mango Mentality now, which is a sativa-type Gush Mintz cross. It finishes earlier, and is huge, but doesn't have the same skunky smell that gush mintz has.

Just a side note, I experimented outdoors this season with the GushMints organically. I harvested patches at different stages of ripeness. The ones that I pulled at 9 weeks had probably 50% cloudy 50%transluscent trichs. The taste and smell is sweeter than the 77 day indoor for sure, and the dry on this wasn’t as exact, and it hasn’t been cured yet.
The high was way more heady, like I smoked half a j…not a king size, just a standard 1 1/4” cone, and I felt my scalp get all tingly, not at all what I was expecting.

PJ, have you ever pulled like 9-10 week? Idk I’m curious to try a 65 day pull this run

PCG says that it doesn't get better after 70 days, and they run a lot of tests so I'm bound to believe them. I have pulled it at 65 days before, and while it wouldn't look ready to most forum users here, it's still very nice after a short cure.

I do run a far red end of day treatment, which supposedly speeds flowering up slightly, but I thing the jury is still out on that.

That 100% makes sense. Because my first run I went 77 days because it just seemed like there were too high a percentage of white pistils, but like you said, it is always throwing white pistils, but I thought everyone says don’t be a freak and panic be patient, so I gave it one more week. It was very earthy flavored after 77, piney a little more minty, a little more on the raunchy side after cure, like it smells in flower, not sweet like this is. The high is more subtle in the late, it’s a lot more heady with the earlier…I’m gonna go 69-70 I think on this one…man I hope my space runtz cut doesn’t play games with me like this lol.

Yeah, I think 70 is just about right for the cut, maybe as high as 75. The Mango Mintility is supposedly 60-days, and I'm just about at 63 now, and it seems like it could go longer. It's huge though. Huge buds, but I have a cold this week, so I can't really smell the terps yet. Gush Mints is next to it, also at 63 days. I'll try to take some pics. I always forget to bring the camera to the grow room lately.

PCG has some real good looking new strains coming out. I want to try the Gush Mints CBD, and also the Pinnacle. Peach Panther sounds awesome too.

I asked them what their personal favorite cut right now is, and they said 1987, I’ve seen pics of it on instagram, and it looks really nice, heavy on the sativa. My only resource for cuts though really is strainly, and they don’t have a lot, they have a lot of people passing out the same 15-20 cuts

This is day 8 of flower, stretch is probably 3/4 done, starting to look like this is almost where it’s ending up:05D1C965-FF65-4F35-B083-D99C57727421.jpeg
Still have those pesky thin spots from last time, I think much more light penetration to the nodes below the net, but still, nodes below the net. So next run, I will defoliate about a week or so before flip, so the light penetrates and those lower branches have time to get in the game more before flower. Those main nodes shoot during stretch, but my lowers don’t really do all that much after flip. I’m also going to LST my tops out next veg so as to gain more symmetry on each plant before scrogging.

Stretch 75% done at day 8? Seems unlikely. I'd be surprised it they don't shoot up at least another foot in the next couple of weeks.
